Inspiration for a contemporary mosaic tile bathroom remodel in Los Angeles with a vessel sink and white countertops

MalibuContemporary Bathroom, Los Angeles

In this remodel of a long and narrow bathroom we created a tile box to separate the wet area from the rest of the bathroom. This allowed us to install a mahogany wood floor in the bathroom and include a large tub and an ample shower in a rather small space. photo David Young-Wollf

    Thanks :-)
We managed to fit the wet area in a space 6'D x 5'9"W. Originally, in that space there was a round tub.
The tub is 5'-6" x 3-0" and the total width of the bathroom is less that 5'-9".
There is no extra glass between the shower and the tub and this is where we saved space. Even though the shower pan is only 30" to the inner edge of the dam, the shower feels enormous exactly because it is open towards the tub. Good luck!

    Thank you!
The wall mounted mixer and tub spout are Italian, made by Zucchetti. You'll need a very god plumber who is familiar with Europan fixtures. I'm sorry but I do not remember what shower head and sink we used, but we bought everything at Living Square, Los Angeles.

I don't remember the total lenght of the room, but the toilet is on the right of the vanity.

Do you know the size of the vanity? this looks great. I have a 5'6" x 12' bathroom... I am considering doing this layout. Just hoping a 48" vanity will be big enough for us.

I wondered where you found the shower light fixtures.

- I need wet location shower lights I can install on the wall. Fan too.

Great idea. We are interested in doing something like this. What are the dimensions of the bathroom? What is the width of the shower? Thanks for posting!

We prepared the wet area like any other shower and hot mopped to the same height as the tub deck. The rest of the walls were treated with paper, lath and cement.

I'm sure it gets all wet, but the clients never complained and were delighted with this bathroom.

Really like the quartz or marble on top of the bathtub.

- Does this match the vanity countertop and is it all one piece?

This is limestone. There is a large space between the floating vanity and the tub.

What sconces did you use?

They are called Nobi. They are by Fontana. Sometimes, if I need them to stick out a lot, I mount the ceiling version on the walls and have them cut to size.

They are Italian, by Zucchetti. The series is called PAN. This one comes in sections and you need a good plumber experienced with European fixtures.
