Hi. There is a tile wainscot/backsplash noted above from Lascauxtile.net and the off white wall above it is plaster.

Hello. Those are actually our custom designed medicine cabinets. The mirror frame is made from art framing materials and are mounted directly to the wall. The glass mirror in the center swings out with a recessed medicine cabinet behind it. Couple other examples below.

Hello. We purchased those from A. Rudin. I think they were named the "Mondrian Sconces". I don't think they carry them anymore. The ceiling light was a custom design of mine made by Rebornantiques.net here in Los Angeles. They may have some similar looking sconces.

What are the dimensions of the finished medicine cabinets? - Did you purchase frameless medicine cabinets and then frame them? Or did the contractor make the medicine cabinet also? I love the idea of framing these like this. Our vanity is close to the same size and configuration. The scale of these mirrors appear to be exactly the size I would want.

Hi Lisa,

I don’t remember the exact dimensions of the framed medicine
cabinets, but they are around 24”-30”wide x 36”-40”ht.

The contractor make the recessed medicine cabinet boxes, then
we installed picture framing material to the wall around the mirror.

Hello and thanks for the question. We wanted to make them look like "Hanging Mirrors", but are in fact recessed medicine cabinets. We had the contractor custom make the medicine cabinets with picture frame material we puchased in straight lengths from our art framers. The frame is mounted on the wall and the mirror glass is the door that moves. We have a small thin little medicine cabinet pull on the bottom right side of the glass that you grab to open the door.

Honestly? That is brilliant! Why didn't I see this two months ago, when my walls were being built? Maybe I can still do this --my house is in Mexico and the walls is thick mortar/concrete. It seems with a chisel and a hammer, I could have recesses made for this purpose. Now, to translate all this to Spanish for my crew.

Medicine cabinet source - I know you have described how you made these medicine cabinets. Super ingenious! But could you supply your source/model for the inset cabinet itself? There are so many out there and I'm not sure which ones would work in this application. Thank you.

Hello. The contractor on this job actually made the medicine cabinet "inserts" themselves out of white melamine. That is how we do most of our medicine cabinets... so I don't really have a "pre-fab" source I can give you. Sorry.

Hello. Not sure. We meet with the cabinet finishers on site and gave them some basic color samples to work from and they came up with this custom color that was approved on site by the clients and myself. It's probably close to a "medium walnut" color.

Hello. The backplates were purchased from www.whitechapel-ltd.com. You can search for "84U21". They are patinated iron backplates. You could use these knobs.. "81EUP6" from Whitechapel also. They come in the same Patinated Iron finish. The original knobs have been discontinued. Thanks,
