Low voltage lighting was used throughout to control the quantity as well as the quality of light. The room’s sole door is glazed with insulated low-E glass to prevent extra light from harming the wines.
The cellar features four Carderock stone columns supporting the double-barrel-vaulted Venetian plaster ceiling. The stone provides visual continuity with the graceful entry area, and blends with the hardy Vermont-slate floor. Three hand-built walnut wine storage units surround the seating area.

We specialize in wine cellar design, build and installation. We traveled to Santa Fe, NM for this design and installation. This "Old World" wine cellar was designed to look and feel like an uncle's old wine cellar in Brooklyn. This cellar was so much fun to design and build. The clients were so "into it" and it was a pleasure working with them!

Located in North County San Luis Obispo, the Santa Ysabel Residence is a Mediterranean inspired family home. Taking advantage of the warm climate, a flagstone paved entry courtyard provides private gathering space that leads to the stone clad entry.
Inside the home, exposed beams, wood baseboards, and travertine floors continue the Mediterranean vibe. A large wine room, with enough storage for a few hundred bottles, features a peek through window from the dining room.
A large covered outdoor living and dining room open up to the pool and fire pit, embracing the rural views of Santa Ysabel.
