Red just won't work as a wall color here. Although we think of the cabinetry as "red" it is really more of a rusty orange color. Also, red will make the cabinets fade into the wall more instead of stand out. For this color of cabinetry, a soft yellow green, a muted warm yellow, or a warm gray would all be wonderful possible colors that would have your cabinetry standing out against the wall color beautifully.

I personally would not paint the walls red. If you love the color red, I would look for accent pieces, red vase, bowl etc. Possible shop your house first to see if you like the contrast.

It looks like black honed granite. However there are now paper countertops from Richlite that achieve a similar look.

I don't know, but it looks like soapstone to me

Not sure what to recommend here. I'd call your local granite company and see what they say. We use the home depot granite cleaner/sealer regularly and like the results. We don't have honed, ours is polished. Good luck,

I don't know what the stain was, I believe it was a custom blend. The wood is distressed hickory. Cabinets custom made by Brunarhans of Connecticut.

I'm sorry, but I believe the floor is limestone, not travertine. The Owner picked this out and ordered it, and it's been so long, I don't know where it was purchased from. I do remember it is an unusual size 14" x 14", which didn't align well with some of the design elements, but it's what she wanted.

Those are hand distressed custom built hickory cabinets with a custom stain to the owner's taste. A cabinet company called Brunarhans in CT made and installed them.

Absolute Black with stain-grade cabinets. Another classic look that can feel rustic or modern. I love Absolute Black with medium oak or walnut. Rift-cut oak also has a great transitional look.

Our color granite. Our cabinets are lighter but I like this darker wood.

Great view of paneled frig with double stainless steel ovens showing them together. Paneling the frig lessens that huge stainless steel wall look. Cabinets are distressed hickory wood with custom stain. Looks like a cherry stain to me. Soft yellow walls would look great with these cabinets with greenish granite, but the black looks awesome also.
