Three of these gorgeous outdoor sconces light up the balcony each evening. A separate light sensor is located in another area and triggers the lights to come on at dusk and off at sunrise. They are dimmable so city views are not compromised at night. They provide just the right amount of evening light on the balcony which surrounds the entire apartment.

We were delighted to find out a previous client of ours was expecting another baby! We were tasked to design a nursery that was calming, masculine and playful. We incorporated a curated gallery wall, ceiling mural and LED baby name sign that cannot be forgotten! Within this small space, we had to include a crib, rocking chair, changing table and daybed. We were focused on making it functional for not only the baby but also for the parents. The fur rug is not only extremely comfortable, but also machine washable - that's a win-win! The layered jute rug underneath creates visual interest and texture. The striped ottoman, black daybed and leather drawer pulls bring the masculinity to the room. We had a custom LED baby name sign made for over the crib, which can be dimmed to any brightness and is safe for children (unlike neon). Baby Andres was born on May 11th. 2020.

My daughter, Poppie Ainsley's room was inspired by the board game Candy Land. We began the process by painting the room a great Tiffany blue color and then candy striped the ceiling pink, red and white (talk about a tough task at seven months pregnant!). I then painted the Candy Land mural on one wall. We kept the cost of the room low by using a floor model "Toys R Us" Amy Coe Crib and Target Furniture. Little accents like polka dotted knobs made the pieces look way more expensive than they actually were! I painted a clearance mirror frame bright red and balanced the color of the room with the round, white rug. Finally candy was placed in glass jars through out the room. We love it! I hope you do as well :)

A modern nursery is a simple and functional take on a baby’s room. It emphasizes the basics, creating a clean and bright space that both parents and children will love. Minimal furniture and decor will help make the nursery feel airy and light, bringing a sense of calm where it’s most needed. Learn how to nail the look with the following modern nursery ideas.

Stick with the Basics

To achieve the minimalist nursery style that’s so attractive to many parents, you’ll need to do your best to limit the amount of things you bring into the space. Babies don’t need much more than a safe place to sleep and a spot to have their diaper changed, so a basic, sleek crib and dresser that can double as a changing table are all you need. If you want a glider for nursing or relaxing, find one that’s simple yet comfortable and doesn’t call attention to itself.

White walls and muted colors will help guide a modern nursery in the right direction. A monochrome or neutral palette keeps things calm and soothing. Natural wood works well for furniture, as does black and white. You can add in hints of pastel colors or small pops of brighter colors to inject some sweet or funky vibes into the nursery, but don’t go overboard. Geometric and graphic patterns in small doses or on large scales, like a blown up wall mural, can add a fun touch.

Use Functional Decor

It’s easy to go wild with decor in a baby’s room, but to stay with a modern theme you’ll want to take the minimalist route. Create modern nursery decorations from necessary elements, like lighting. Have a stylish overhead light or lamp double as a statement piece. Invest in a design-worthy crib and dresser that stand out on their own. Use chic storage bins and baskets to keep things corralled and uncluttered. Try not to bring anything extra to the space that doesn’t add some sort of function; this will keep things sophisticated, clean and relaxing.
