sink - Is this a real shell-isn't really heavy & endangered? Or who is the manufacturer?

Easy, I use "Clorox Clean-up" spray bathroom cleaner. Just give a spritz, wait a few minutes, and rinse. If you have toothpaste spat in the grooves the shell, use a nail brush. They are easier to keep clean than those glass bowls which show mineral stains.

I do not know. Our client had had the shell for many years before turning it into a vessel sink.

There is a clamshell sink for sale on the Seattle Craiglist right now:

Tridacna clam shell sink

Or you can buy a clam shell and drill it out yourself. It takes a masonry bit and be sure to keep it wet the entire time you are drilling.

How did they balance the shell - How did they balance the shell bottom to sit level on the glass . I have a shell and am looking to know how they ground down the bottom to make it flat ?

Looks like the glass was cut to the shape of the shell and the bottom of the shell sits down in the glass

Have a look at ThinkGlass website. They have glass countertops. The blue or green colors depends of the surrounding colors and of the amount of iron in the glass.

Featherstone Design - I had tried to use the same shell as a sink and discovered all the invisible sinuses when I put water into it. What did you use to seal it to make it water proof? The shell is now being used as a planter for succulents outside.
