Love the roof but would this be a good roof in a snowy climate? Worried about snow piling up and leaking?

it's not very clear from the photos , but is the roof dark gray?

Looks like an engineering and flashing nightmare in that huge roof valley. Massive snow loading potential and problem area for wetting and leakage. I'd never do it. Looks nice though.

Hi there - sorry for the delay in responding to your comment. These are our Fusionline windows, which features this aluminum cladding over the wood. You can read more about the Fusionline engineering and styles here, if you like:

the color of the aluminum is RAL 7016 matt. It's also called "anthracite grey matt".

The garage doors! - Hey. I am interested whether the color of the garage doors is similar as the color for the windows - RAL 7016?

I love the railing and would like to know if I can use the concept - I am noting how the glass is mounted to side pillars, is it also in a steel support at the bottom? I have a log cabin with log frame railing and would like to install glass. However the logs are naturally irregular so I am wondering about a secure way of mounting glass panels. Any suggestion would be most helpful, Many thanks. Sharon from Ontario Canada .

3. Strong setting. This house makes the most of its beautiful location. The architect has taken a cue from the mountainous setting and inverted the typical roof line. I love that this home mimics the valley of a mountain range, as opposed to the peak.

Cabin retreat. These are traditionally built with log and field stones with centrally located fireplaces.Updates: Warm wood structures are being replaced with engineered laminated beams with more dramatic roof lines, but the result is still appealing.
Susan Stieglitz added this to Butterfly Roof
Though this looks like a butterfly roof, it is actually comprised of two skillion roofs, which both slant inward. The advantage of this is that the vertical space between allows for a nice clerestory window.

Overall pleasing structure. 2nd floor room placed back from front face, with small deck.

Interesting butterfly roof. Not sure practical. Neat how they are staggered.
