I'm pretty sure that is a modular office furniture system from Ballard designs. The counter has niches underneath where the drawer units fit and almost lock in. I have a very similar system form pottery barn.

It's a custom top made of maple and painted.

It is 132". We could not find the ready- made solution so I designed these work stations using standard drawer units topped with a custom work space top.

yes! good guess! The top was custom and it rests on file cabinets from ballard designs.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Kit Pollard added this to Tips for Designing a Great Shared Kids' Room
One way to establish a shared zone is to focus it on an activity - like homework (the chalkboard above has a similar function). In this room, the shared space offers lots of storage, too - an extra bonus.
The Shabby Nest added this to Keep 'em All Happy: Great Shared Spaces
Shared spaces are not always bedrooms. In this study space, separate cabinets and drawers help to create individual workstations.
