The fan is the Fanimation Islander, FP320RS1, with BPD4A blade set. This is similar, but with oil-rubbed bronze finish instead of rust and real woven bamboo instead of the composite blades:

We had the same problem with a screened in porch underneath our top deck. It was completely unusable if it was raining. So we did a lot of research and decided on having an under deck installed. It's not cheap, $6500 for a 12x20 space, but it is leak proof and guaranteed for life with a transferable warranty. We even had an electrician wire it for a ceiling fan/lighting and had eye bolts put in for a bed swing. We finally have a beautiful space to relax and enjoy the rain while staying nice and dry ;)

The space-defining power of sheers isn’t limited to the indoors, either. In a patio space, sheers give the feeling of being in an outdoor room and can soften, without erasing, the hard edge of a home’s exterior for a breezy cabana atmosphere. Stick to organic beige hues for practical purposes.

What makes a porch feel more like a room? The accessories. Potted plants can create a sense of enclosure in the great outdoors and also add a welcome touch of height. Lanterns and bowls of fruit embellish the space here too. An overhead fan is a great way to get more use out of a porch in steamy climes.

When building the house, Dankner made sure to include an outside space that felt like an extension of the interior. She spends a lot of her time on the covered porch, which she furnished with a ceiling fan and curtains. “The covered porch is everyone’s favorite, because I created an indoor space outside,” she says. “It’s comfortable and a wonderful space to entertain [in].” Outdoor furniture: Janus et Cie, Dedon, Crate & Barrel, Frontgate
