    Hi rebeka73,

The central wall is brick - there is wallpaper that is used in the small nook across from the wood beams. It's hard to see in this picture but here is more info -

    HI!

I believe the homeowner purchased the apartment with the brick already installed!

    Thanks for your questions!

    Hi!

The doorway was constructed by adding thin strips of timber around the frame - I am not sure if there was a stain applied.

    Hope this helps!

New Walls Break Things Up in BrooklynThis owner loved the industrial look of his loft — once home to the New York Trolley Museum — but he needed a little separation to make it work for his lifestyle. A few new walls created a separate dining room, two bedrooms and a living space. Leaving the rooms just slightly open to one another maintained the loft's open feel. Reclaimed wood accents and shelves, well-appointed antiques and a few industrial elements give the home an elegant but informal look that suits its history. See more of this loft

When Botha was growing up, the dining room was the most formal room in the house. He kept some of that formality in his own space with an alder wood trestle table and upholstered chairs. "The dining room has such a refined yet playful feel to it," he says. "It contains all my favorite elements of the apartment: the brick wall, the horizontal wood paneling, the wallpaper, the reclaimed wood, the chandelier and so on. It's sort of a greatest hits."Botha’s parents gave him the ornate teak screen in the back corner. Thin strips of timber planks line the walk-through to the bedroom.Chandelier: Tomorrow's Antiques; timber planks: Arc Fabrication
