It makes it look like it has evolved over time with pots you already have. It's more casual, practical, less costly and less formal -- not necessarily a wow factor, but comfy and natural.

The different heights also give it more interest than a row of same sizes somewhere.

Espresso Classic Adirondack Chair and StoolDetails: These chairs are actually the same ones featured in the previous image, but the difference in color along with the addition of a pair of ottomans completely changes their flavor. Why they work here: This deep outdoor patio space was begging to be filled, but a table and chairs would’ve blocked off too much of the boxy space. Adding the ottomans transformed these Adirondacks into lounge chairs and created a shady nook for enjoying a hot afternoon.Source: Cost Plus World Market

There is no need to limit your thinking to spots inside the home. If you have a porch, you can transform one side into your own personal oasis. An Adirondack chair with a footrest and cushy pillow tucked in among lush greenery would make a delightful spot to write in a journal or simply relax in peace with a tall iced tea.

While the house embraces the indoor/outdoor lifestyle of Southern California. Bennett found the chairs for the patio at World Market, and accessorized them with simple pillows from Pottery Barn. Basic terracotta planters were filled with easy-to-care-for plant life for some added greenery.
