I agree. It is a waste of viewers' time to sift through all of the information until a cooperative firm can be located. Besides, who wants to purchase homes or hire services from design firms that retain employees who are uncooperative at a time during which they are trying to generate business? Can you image what it would be like to deal with them after they are hired? Yikes!! Good will is considered an asset that is valued during sale of a business for those firms astute enough to generate some. I already have a GC for an interior project that I am going to complete, but will probably need to hire another firm for a future exterior project since my GC does not do that type of work. I will definitely pay attention to those businesses that freely answer questions. This will be an indication of whose interest they have at heart and whether they will be cooperative or uncooperative subsequent to hiring of their services. You would think that would be common sense, but maybe some firms have enough business that they don't need to be client focused. Buyer beware!!

All of our purchases of lighting are made locally at Hinsdale Lighting in Illinois. Thanks for asking!

That island is a stained wood.
  • danaperez
Thank you so much. Do you think the counter top on the island is marble? I'm redoing my kitchen similar to this one, but considering marble counter tops everywhere. I'm wondering why I rarely see that combination.

Looks like it may be the Mini Chandelier by James Moder.
The James R. Moder Mini Crystal No. 95742 Chandelier is old-world, crystal magnificence in a contemporary setting. Crystals hang from multiple strands that fall around the central fixture. Truly, no two Broadway chandeliers are the same, as the strands can be positioned randomly, creating a unique layer of crystal on both sides of the Candelabra lamps. http://www.lumens.com/Mini-Chandelier-No-95742-by-James-R-Moder/uu125540/Product

Accent the cabinets. "Our homeowners wanted a hint of sophistication yet wanted to play up the farmhouse look in the kitchen," says Amy Krieger of Oakley Home Builders. "The white cabinetry is accentuated with the use of crystal chandeliers. These glamorous fixtures add elegance while keeping with the theme of the kitchen."

Here's another version of the mini chandeliers as pendants. Not only do they add a touch of elegance, but they also grant the space just a bit of whimsy.

Perfect except need about 12” of counter space on each side of the stove to set things down. Also spice shelves on inside towers. Can the mantle be a little lower?
