Paisley Guest Bedroom Contemporary Bedroom, Atlanta

We took a simple 12' x 12' room and added instant interest by adding a bold black and white paisley wallpaper from Lee Jofa to the main wall. We then found a 1960s headboard found laying on the floor of a flea market and sprayed it in a high-gloss black paint. The headboard was then hung and flanked with two white lacquered side tables from Target. On the floor we added alternating carpet tiles from Interface Carpets in both a herringbone and fishnet pattern. We just added the tiles around the bed in order to maintain the ebonized hardwood floors. We then punched it up a notch by brining in a bright green accent color.

This was a vintage find that was coated in dust. Joel and his wife had it cleaned and painted and it was completely transformed.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Kit Pollard added this to The Pattern Makes the Space
Wallpaper paste is a bigger commitment than I'm willing to make personally, but I do like how this pattern almost acts as a background neutral against the strong green.
Kathryn added this to Patterns: Treat Your Eye to The Fun of Paisley
I like black and white paisley for home design. The print remains just as bold but the colors create a more graphic punch.
Erika Ward - Erika Ward Interiors added this to A Vote for the Cable Stitch in Home Decor
Modernize knits by using them in vibrant colors. The toss pillow and knit throw add a zest of lime to a graphic black-and-white palette.
Becky Harris added this to How to Ease Your Way into Bold Color
Switch up your bedding. Bright pillows and a throw blanket is the easiest and least permanent way to give bold color a whirl. The same trick can be applied to the sofa.
Scheer & Co. Interior Design added this to Small Gestures Make a Big Impact
A black and white scheme always benefits from a little unexpected color. If you scour sales, you can find accessories like throw blankets and toss pillows for next to nothing. That means big changes seasonally or according to your mood won’t be a pricey endeavor.
