Hello Giovanna12, I just saw this question today from November! The floor is a basket weave marble mosaic from WaterWorks. (www.waterworks.com) It is comprised of Thassos marble which is the white 1" x 2.5" and Celeste marble which is the small blue dot 3/8" square. Best, Tom

You're welcome. The room is actually a very odd shape, sort of an oblong "L" shape and the walls are not flat but have bumps and jogs that go around columns and pipes. This bath is in an 18 story apartment building that was built in the 1910's.
  • mcm98122

I haven't seen any recent posts--hoping you're still monitoring! What is the woodwork treatment around the mirror above the vanity--is that called millwork? And how tall are the mirrors? Will a normal contractor find that treatment complicated? Thank you!

Beautiful bathroom! I also have a small bathroom and I am currently under renovation. I can not wait for the final result! When we bought a flat, it was very bad. It was necessary to hire a renovation team https://thehomeexpert.uk/offer/kitchens/modern-inspiration/. It was the best choice, because we would not be able to do it ourselves. I hope it will come out great.

Thanks for pointing that out, Fred S and Mimitime2. The original idea for the fixture over the tub was to be a flush mounted light. The lantern came about later, but as you point out, it is not to code. I appreciate the attention to this detail. Best, Tom

Hi Crich 1112, thanks for the compliments. The sink is a Kohler Caxton, readily available most plumbing places. Tub faucet is Waterworks Julia series in polished nickel. But, the Rohl one mentioned above by Plumbed Elegance is very similar and more reasonably priced. The sconces are Hudson Valley Lighting 1901 Newport 5 inch wall sconce. The towels are from Labrazel Home. As far as purchasing, most of these items can be purchase either directly through the manufacturer or you can find a local distributor from the manufacturer's website.

Best of luck with your renovation!

Dear PMR1951: We have had this same problem several times recently. There are no places in the US that we know of that have Kaldewei tubs on display currently. There was a place in NYC that had them, but no longer carry them. Also, same in Greenwich, CT. We have actually sent clients to previous client's homes to sit in them! We called the US rep a few years ago and they were not very helpful. Good luck, I wish I could be more helpful.
  • pmr1951
I am probably going to order it sight unseen and hope it works. But I need to know what rough in kit you used? So far the warehouse tells me that Geberit works, the one that comes from Kaldewei has PVC piping which won't meet code here. I asked before what faucets you used and I think you said Water Works. I looked up the Julia but it doesn't look like what I see in the picture. Does Water Works rough in work with this tub? Thanks.

Hello Purple Passion, thanks for the question. I would suggest that the vanity and the trim match in color. So, either do the trim in master in Chantilly Lace, or paint the vanity the White Dove. Often we will brush paint the final coat on cabinetry so that is has the same "finish" as the trim. Many cabinet shops will spray the paint on the cabinetry so even if it is the same color, it will look very different than the brush finish.

Good luck with your project, I hope that was helpful.

The space in front of the vanity to the door entering the bathroom is about four and a half feet. There is a shower on the opposite side of the vanity from the tub, that is about four feet by six feet. So, the overall room is about six and a half feet by fourteen and a half feet. There is a water closet room at the foot of the tub that is three by six feet. Here is another photo looking toward the shower. I hope this is helpful. Tom

Hello Jennifermcgehee, yes, the deck at the front of this tub is 4". If you put a wood front on the tub it is difficult to make this edge less than 4" because of the thickness of the wood panel, the overhang of the stone top, and the lip of the tub underneath. We typically make the front as narrow as possible and make the sides and back deeper. In this case, the back is actually very narrow due to space constraints in the bathroom. ---Tom

Of course, staged photos don’t display the cleaning supplies and big-box-store-size toilet paper packs that are the unglamorous but realistic parts of daily living. Even with these necessities stored, you can create a space that is both efficient for your morning routine and rejuvenating after you’ve had a long, tiring day. The first step is decluttering your bathroom to remove excess items. Here’s how to do it.Bathrooms are usually multipurpose storage centers of toiletries, linens, cleaning supplies and medicines. To declutter, I recommend separating everything into categories (also sub-categories if necessary) and purging items in each category before moving on to the next.

4. A light reflector. If your bathroom is skimpy on natural light, you can fake an abundance of it with an all-white color scheme. You still need ample lighting from ceiling or wall fixtures, but the large amount of white will bounce around the light and brighten the space.
