Beautiful, but not in baby's opinion. I would not be so alarmist as to suggest that babies "need" visual stimulation in order to achieve optimum brain development. But I have cared for enough babies to know for sure that they enjoy looking at stuff,
colorful stuff and stuff with a lot of contrast.

But if the baby is only going to sleep there, the lack of stimulation is good. But seems "Off" to me. If you know the baby's preferences, why not work with them?
  • janedoe2012
Oops! I am sorry. When I commented before, I didn't realize this was someone's actual home. And when I realized and looked at the other photos, I saw the board with the children's artwork, right across from baby's crib.

Perfect room! I love the way it accommodates baby, but doesn't look like a Disney set plopped into an otherwise mature home.

Is the sheepskin rug cream or white?
  • PRO

More on the white side, but cream would work too with all of the different shades.

What color and material are these shades? I've been looking at Hampton Bay on Home Depot's website.

I'll try to go by HD this weekend and see if I can find it. I didn't see it on the website, but we found it in the sample books they have at the store. They had the light natural color we used and a beautiful chocolate brown color as well. Hopefully they still have it!

The changing pad could be secured behind the dresser. we bought a dresser/changing table combo that had the pad secured that way.

The walls are Ancestral 20-1 by Pratt & Lambert in semi-gloss and all of the trim and woodwork are White Dove by Benjamin Moore :)

Thank you! It was just inexpensive Carter's mostly. Any white or cream bedding I would buy. I layered two bed skirts in both colors and it made them blend nicely. Thank you for the question!

Not to mention the white all over....stain magnet....a few dirty diapers and a few spoonfuls of puréed carrots regurgitated over the white non-washable lamb skin rug....

I purchased it years ago from Kirkland Home. It was gold, so I had it lacquered in white. If you Google White Lacquer Rococo Mirror, you will get some good results.

Pretty room w lovely colors; however it is not safe for a baby. Check American Academy of Pediatrics safe sleep rules. no bumper, no pillow, no blanket in the crib, and nothing hung where an older little one can pull on them. If a toddle banged on the mirrored chest, would the glass break? Perhaps the plan is to switch out when the baby is older.

It was an old gold mirror that I had and painted it in white lacquer. If you Google "white baroque mirror", you can get some good leads on similar mirrors.

There is a strap on on the side of the changing pad which you then screw into the back of the dresser to secure the pad to the dresser top. You then buckle the baby in while you change the diaper. No tray needed.

Believe it or not, I purchased it at Costco! They have white, chocolate, and gray rugs this year. I loved the one at West Elm, but this one is more organic in shape and less expensive :)

                              4. Doing an all-white nursery can be a little intimidating for new mothers, but Houzzers liked how this designer pulled it off. By layering textures and playing with reflective surfaces, the nursery feels warm and cozy, but still very clean.

The Shabby Nest added this to Monochromatic Color Schemes: A Room With a HueJan 18, 2011

This nursery — with a color scheme tending almost entirely toward whites — is made glamorous and interesting by the dynamic mixture of textures and finishes. From the sisal and fur rugs, to the mirrored chest and sparkly chandelier, this room is a perfect example of white done right. Next: Go ahead and paint everything the same color (even the trim)
