    1. Is the top course a solid block or is it hollow and with the voids grouted solid? YES - THE SAME FOR THE BLOCK AT THE WINDOW HEAD. I ALSO SUGGEST THAT YOU USE A METAL PARAPET CAP AS WELL. MASONRY WILL ALLOW FOR WATER/SNOW MELT INFILTRATION IF HTE CAP BLOCK IS NOT PROTECTED.
    2. Are all voids in the wall grouted solid? ONLY THOSE REQUIRED BY STRUCUTRAL ENGINEERING TO HAVE REINFORCING BAR. THE REMAININNG CELLS ARE FILLED WITH FOAM INSUALATION.
    3. I assume the wall is a single wythe wall, is this correct? YES
    4. Did you have to use any wall drains at the bottom of the wall to let any water out that may get inside? Can you recommend a drain type if you did use one? THE MASONRY SYSTEM IS CLOSED AND DOES NOT REQUIRE DRAINAGE. IF THE WALLS ARE RETAINING THEN THEY WOULD NEED WEEP HOLES/DRAINAGE SYSTEM LIKE J-DRAIN.
    5. Are the block constructed using a water repellent admixture? Same question pertains to the grout. NOT ALWAYS BUT WE TYPICALLY USE AN ADMIXTURE IN TYPE S MORTAR AND IN MASONRY UNITS.
    6. Did you seal the outside face with a water repellent sealer? YES BUT THIS SEALER MUST BE REAPPLIED OVER TIME
    7. Is the block ground face or other? NO. THIS IS STANDARD GREY MASONRY UNITS
    8. Does the inside face of the wall get hot? NO. THE INSULATION IN THE OPEN CELLS HELPS MITIGATE THIS.
Any pointers you could provide, would be appreciated.

From the street the modern residence is composed as a series of parallel walls. From front to back: Gabion walls define the carport (right) and entrance (left — note how the second gabion wall is taller to provide privacy); concrete block walls are at the front of the house; a stucco-covered wall on the second floor pops up.
