The space formerly included furniture and accessories in bold primary colors that were fun for young kids, but with her son now a teenager and her 9-year-old daughter approaching her tweens, a new color palette and some “grown-up furniture” were in order. “It kind of broke my heart a little to get rid of the old stuff, but I guess they have to grow up eventually,” Rhode says.
