I would stay away from Mockett products for two reasons. 1. The costs is obscene- a 'medium' outlet , 4 actual plugins is $269. The slightly larger is $369. Not worth it in my book nor anyone I asked if they would consider. 2. They look like they belong in an office or industrial setting, not a home. 3. They do not look as nice as Grommett pop up. If you like the square style, Lew is lesser priced, although still quite expensive at $154(?) Per 2 GFI plugs. Legrand 'Adorne' is much more reasonable - from $45-60 depending on type and looks MUCH nicer than all other brands. You can install on wall or counter.

I would just like to add a comment about acceptance in San Francisco.

Most of the pop ups like these are listed as relocatable power taps. They are fine to use if suitable for the environment, but will not be considered as the required receptacle in 210.52. Any pop up receptacle would at a minimum hard wired and listed for such use. San Francisco is not that difficult. Just show us the listing and installation instructions, and if in compliance, we will most likely approve its use. We are also user friendly, and if you have any questions about the use of a particular product, we would be happy to look at before installation and assist in determining a products suitability for such use. The problems usually occur after installation when the installation instructions are not available and/or not installed per instructions. Also, do not forget to check the local code amendments and call for clarification if there are any questions.

What are the coolest new must-haves? I liked this question from MelissaL and everyone’s clever suggestions so much, I swiped this discussion and turned it into a series of home must-haves. Inevitably, there was much debate about the difference between a must-have and excess. Personally, I am firmly planted in camp pot filler. Who knew an extra faucet could cause such controversy?See the discussion

Pop-up hidden outlets are a great solution for islands.

This system helps hide the outlets in such a smart way; the core of outlets pushes down into the counter, leaving only a pull tab visible on the surface.More ways to hide the outlets
