I believe they are 18" or 20" tiles. I know they were bigger than 12" and I know they weren't 24". I would have to look through the archives to be sure of that info. Good luck! Thank you!

Luv the Saltillo tile so much in this pic. Does it have some brown in it? And wondering what shade grout you used? Thank you

    how much are typical spools?

I am sure they vary by contractor and region. I would say that they are the price of a small pool - all of the same equipment and processes are required - as well as the equipment required to heat up that large mass of water. I am sure if you contact a local pool contractor - they can give you a price range. Thanks!

We are trying to decide between running a long gas line or doing bioethanol concrete firepit. Our concern is heat output with bioethanol. The concrete firepit is 84x42 inches ....thoughts as a pro?

I have had great experience with the bioethonol/ecosmart fire solutions. I would still prefer a gas line....but if cost or logistics make that undesirable or impossible....the bioethanol is definitely the next best thing!

The blue subway tile really brings the fire place and pool to life! The traditional wicker has a contemporary flair that truly ties in all the wonderful elements of the patio.

Thank you so much! The tops are the same as the kitchen countertop - a poured-in-place concrete slab.

This is a great photo well composed, all the material from the tiles to the sofa are well balanced and blend in well.

It was built by the General Contractor for the project. It is all masonry and tile - with a single line gas feature. The General Contractor was Royal Remodeling in Tucson, AZ. Thanks!

wow. somehow I just now saw this. I am sure it it too late...but...the water does not flow over - the wall is quite a bit higher than the water level. It may splash in once in a while but it hasn't proven to be an issue. Thanks!

The pool is approximately 10'x15'. It has an angled back pool wall/bond beam which gives the effect that the water spills over the edge but it does not. Thanks!

It was a fabric selection from Brown Jordan - I am unsure of the specific name of the color. Thanks and good luck!

This custom fire feature is a perfect example of how to incorporate a fire element near the pool in an outdoor living area. Placing it between the pool and the outdoor seating area allows it to benefit both spaces.

4. This desert patio is anything but barren. The mix of succulents and stone make the space feel full and fresh. Houzz users bookmarked this space for the great modern furniture, the colorful ceramic planters and the pops of orange and blue throughout the design.

The back patio faces a stunning sunset view of a beautiful golf course. The modern built-in fireplace — surrounded by outdoor furniture from Brown Jordan — was made by running a single line of gas into a basin. The basin is made out of concrete block units, and has a base layer of sand with a top layer of decorative fire glass. "The fire feature is almost like a geode," says Prideaux. "The stone exterior creates an outer layer that is cut away to reveal the brilliant glossy and glass blues."
