The renovation of this town home included expansion of this sitting room to encompass an existing patio space. The overhang of the roof over this patio made for a dark space initially. In the renovation, sliding glass doors and a stone patio were added to open up the views, increase natural light, and expand the floor space in this area of the home, adjacent to the Living Room and fireplace.

A custom bookcase for cookbook collection was built from recycled wood. Maker was found at a local home show in Portland. All furniture pieces were made or found and selected/designed maximizing height to accentuate tall ceilings. The vestibule in the background shows tiny space added by new nib walls as entry way to existing bathroom. Salt Interiors custom joinery was featured in the August issue of House & Garden Magazine. For this project, Salt Interiors worked with Senior Interior Designer for Coco Republic, Natasha Levak to provide custom joinery for the 1930s Spanish-revival home. Levak’s vision for a neutral palette helped to determine the polyurethane paint for the renovated joinery unit Salt installed in the room.

Bathed in sunlight from the large window expanse, the master bedroom closet speaks to the amount of detail the Allen and James design team brought to this project. An amazing light fixture by Visual Comfort delivers bling and a wow factor to this dressing retreat. Illumination of the classic cabinetry is also added with a shimmering white finish.
