Bathroom - transitional bathroom idea in New York

This home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland began as a modest 1927 home with a central hall plan. Renovations included reversing the kitchen and dining room layout , adding a large central island and hood to anchor the center of the kitchen. The island has a walnut counter encircling the working island and accommodates additional seating. The main sink looks out to the north with beautiful water views. The southwest bay window affords a seating area with built-in bookshelves adjoining the breakfast room while the one in the kitchen provides for the secondary sink and clean-up area. By capturing the additional depth in the bay window, a large TV is concealed below the countertop and can emerge with a press of a button or retract out of sight to enjoy views of the water. A separate butler's pantry and wine bar were designed adjoining the breakfast room. The original fireplace was retained and became the center of the large Breakfast Room. Wood paneling lines the Breakfast Room which helps to integrate the new kitchen and the adjoining spaces into a coherent whole, all accessible from the informal entry. The new floor plan offered more privacy for the water closet and cozier area for the round tub. A more spacious shower was created by shrinking the floor plan - by bringing the wall of the former living room entry into the bathroom it created a deeper shower space and the additional depth behind the wall offered deep towel storage. A living plant wall thrives and enjoys the humidity each time the shower is used. An oak wood wall gives a natural ambiance for a relaxing, nature inspired bathroom experience.

Imagined and designed by Kemble Interiors and thoughtfully executed by Empire City Construction. This Pre-war building, that once was the home to the composer Irving Berlin, was given a fresh tune recently. The existing herringbone floors and wall paneling throughout the living areas and office: were exquisitely restored to their original glory. The kitchen was carefully and completely disassembled and then rebuilt with new and existing elements. The addition of new Calcutta marble countertops, a custom fabricated range hood, and installation of custom grey stained wide plank floors gave the kitchen area a fresh and elegant revamp. Three of the four bathrooms were completely transformed as well as two bathrooms to complete the entire floor renovation project.

The majority of the cabinets are painted in Sherwin Williams Foggy Day. Stained cabinets surrounding the sink look like a piece of furniture. Stained open shelves make the space open and bright while bringing in additional warmth. The white subway tile backsplash on the entire kitchen perimeter wall keeps the kitchen light. The island is hard to miss as not only is it quite large but it gorgeous! The majority of the counter is Calacatta Laza by MSI while one end showcases a beautiful slab of wood.
