This home at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove is a fine illustration of how rustic can be comfortable and contemporary. Postcard from Paris provided all of the exterior and interior specifications as well as furnished the home. The firm achieved the modern rustic look through an effective combination of reclaimed hardwood floors, stone and brick surfaces, and iron lighting with clean, streamlined plumbing, tile, cabinetry, and furnishings.
Among the standout elements in the home are the reclaimed hardwood oak floors, brick barrel vaulted ceiling in the kitchen, suspended glass shelves in the terrace-level bar, and the stainless steel Lacanche range.

Made of 300, 10-foot steel blades set upright 8 inches apart, the award winning Cor-Ten Cattails Sculptural fence was designed for a home in Berwyn, Pennsylvania as a yard sculpture that also keeps deer out.
Made of COR-TEN, a steel alloy that eliminates the need for painting and maintains a rich, dark rust color without corroding, the fence stanchions were cut with a plasma cutter from sheets of the alloy.
Each blade stands 8 feet above grade, set in concrete 3 feet below, weighs 80-90 pounds and is 5/8 inch thick. The profile of the blades is an irregular trapezoid with no horizontal connections or supports. Only the gate has two horizontal bars, and each leaf weighs 1200 pounds.

As with the lounge, the outdoor dining room is defined by the shift in ground-level materials from the precast pavers with joints to saltillo tile.

This kitchen remodel in Littleton, Colorado, resulted in the homeowners saying “I love it!” One of the design challenges was making room for three, yes three, refrigerators. The kitchen housed one fridge, and the dining room housed two. With the dining room in full view from the front entry, a solution was needed! Jan Neiges, of Jan Neiges CKD LLC, was up to the challenge. Jan states, “I suggested closing off the dining room and creating an open access (no door) to that room only from the kitchen. The design turned that room into a walk-in butler's pantry, providing additional space to add a desk area, a walk in closet for the client's kitchen accessories, and more counter space.” This kitchen remodel in Littleton, Colorado, featured Fieldstone Cabinetry’s Bristol door style in Maple finished in White. Jan listened to the homeowners needs, which included back health issues, and specified cork flooring and lots of dedicated storage features to assist with making the back issues manageable. GRADE took a modern approach to this stately 2,500 sq. ft. Upper East Side residence, completing the project in May 2010. With the objective to revitalize a classic space and manifest a new aesthetic identity for the client, GRADE's serene design provides a backdrop that reflects the client's colorful past through carefully cultivated accents and utilizes elevated modern pieces to represent a new stage in her life. The color palette was kept soft and feminine, with textured fabrics introduced to complement the welcoming oversized furniture.
