Our client came to us loving the black and white color tones of the Art Deco design style, and wanted to update the materials of their Bathroom to be low-maintenance and have their shower be easily accessible for future living-in place. The bathroom gets a lot of natural daylight, and they felt the existing white walls made the room feel too bright, so a rich deep blue was used to balance the lighting in the room.

Our clients came to us looking to remodel their condo. They wanted to use this second space as a studio for their parents and guests when they came to visit. Our client found the space to be extremely outdated and wanted to complete a remodel, including new plumbing and electrical. The condo is in an Art-Deco building and the owners wanted to stay with the same style. The cabinet doors in the kitchen were reclaimed wood from a salvage yard. In the bathroom we kept a classic, clean design.

The twists and flourishes of Old World wrought iron find bold new expression in the Virage Bath Collection by Brizo®. Combining modern sophistication with hints of art deco styling, Virage is a uniquely elegant form that adapts to almost any environment.
The idea for Virage really took root during a trip to Paris and all of the beautiful wrought iron throughout the city. From there it was a matter of making initial sketches a little more Art Deco, a little less Gothic.

We took this beautiful art deco table and paired it with some fun leopard and acrylic chairs. The client already has the beautiful artwork to add to this great space

The client's own art deco furniture ( see settee at bottom right of photo) was the inspiration for the furniture selection, and her artwork the inspiration for the blue and pink accents. The sitting area is a mix of upholstered pieces, pulled together by a patchwork cowhide rug. A glass and chrome bar cart wheels conveniently to where the action is. The rooms many round elements are echoed in the motif of the mirrored triptych. Off the living area we catch a glimpse of the den/guest room, where all-white furniture is enlivened by a large modern canvas in blue and pink.

After Photo - of the room we transformed as a home office at the 2012 Kips Bay Show House. A small room with a nice city view but little else. The room's small size and awkward wall indentations on all three sides was definitely a challenge!
