20 Fabulous Pool Designs Under 600 sq feet of Water Surface Area
Custom pools are a much-desired amenity in Southern Nevada, however in accordance with the 2022 water use ordinance, new residential pools may NOT exceed 600 sq ft of water surface area. The square footage includes a total of the pool, spa, and any infinity-edge troughs where applicable. And, there is also a ban on independent water features.

Ongoing drought and climate change conditions continue to affect water levels in Lake Mead – Southern Nevada's primary water supply. As a result, the federal government declared a shortage on the Colorado River, reducing Southern Nevada's available water supply by 8.1 billion gallons, and additional reductions are expected in the coming years.
To help manage these water supply constraints, the Southern Nevada Water Authority approved a resolution in July 2022 that supports a 600-square-foot surface area limit on new residential pools. The Las Vegas Valley Water District and other local jurisdictions approved this change shortly thereafter with rule and code changes. This measure will help reduce consumptive water use associated with evaporative water loss, targeting savings from the top 25 percent of new pools constructed.

Vistafolia's modern and flexible Artificial Green Wall design offers real customer value, providing excellent bespoke solutions for any client requirement. This roof terrace had an exceptionally long, south-facing space with parapet walls clad in metal sheeting, creating an environment too hot and inhospitable for real planting. The limited area coverage was also a big issue, as putting in living plant systems would significantly reduce the floor space and hamper mobility.
Our Vistafolia Panels, which can be customized to fit any conceivable dimension, fulfilled the client’s desire to look out to beautiful greenery by creating a simple solution to the problem with our versatile system and design expertise.

The project takes on its own style and craftsmanship that starts when you enter the drive through gates and the massive steel and stone-gabion-basket entry monument, and then carries through the entire 5 acre property. It is a rare and unique opportunity for a single design/build firm to be able to have complete creative authority of the landscape, water features, and home interiors and exteriors; enabling the theme and style to be seamless. We had a goal of maintaining the feel and comfort reflective of the 5 acre ranch parcel nestled within farm fields and pastures, yet needed to also create the luxury living of a 5-Star Resort. Although these two themes seem to stand in contrast, the end result is an amazingly comfortable luxury home in a style we refer to as Rustic Contemporary. We used massive amounts of steel, concrete and stone on the exterior structures to create that rustic/industrial feel the client desired and then subtly brought into the home many steel and stone features so as to blend the line that separates inside from out. When the exterior walls, that are now folding glass panels, are opened there is an amazing harmony of finishes and details. This house & yard combine contemporary lines with a rich material palette thats all about warmth and comfort.

A steeply sloping property in the Franklin Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles is the site for this 200 square foot writer’s studio, labeled the “Black Box” for its minimal geometry and dark stained cladding. Floating above an existing residence and capturing a panoramic view of Griffith Park and its famed Observatory, the Black Box serves as the office for a technology author and columnist.
Entry to the structure is obtained by ascending the hillside stairs and passing below the tree canopy enveloping the studio. A custom fabricated steel fenestration system opens to the entry platform though a pair of telescoping doors. The assembly turns the corner and terminates in a picture window, directing the occupant to the expansive views. The position of the studio and the arrival sequence creates the desired separation between home life and work life.
