Beverly Hills, CA - Our custom made Mediterranean passage gates come in unique designs. This scrolled iron and wood gate was delicately designed to suit the home's architectural character. The swiftly elegant scrolling was forged by hand offering security while the wooden frame makes the gate look inviting and soothing to the eye. This gate was one of several installed at the Ferrari Drive property and specifically made to resonate the garage door which we also designed and built. In the end, the client gave their home a facelift without the million dollar budget. We specialize in custom designed and crafted garage doors, gates and shutters that liven up the curb appeal of any home. We are certainly not the cheapest but we are the best in quality and design innovation!

For this Boston-area former hunting lodge, featured in Outside the Not So Big House by Julie Moir Messervy and Sarah Susanka, JMMDS created a landscape design that anchors the house in the site and complements its Tuscan-inspired architectural update. An antique openwork wrought-iron gate provides access from the driveway to the courtyard and breaks up the solidity of the stone walls, crafted by an italian stonemason. This Modern Ranch Style courtyard was fitted with a custom designed swiveling gate that followed the original designer's minimalistic style. Although large, this modern gate gives the impression of a lightly refined design that is reminiscent of Cliff May's Modern Ranch style architecture. Focusing on simplicity and the already fine-lines of this home we created a modern style gate that stayed true to the home's architectural essence while adding a modern flare of the owner's personal taste for modernism. This Mediterranean style home was given the entrance it deserved with our gate and trellis addition. Beautiful vines and foliage complete the transformation.

We changed the exterior from dark brown to blue, added shutters, cream colored lattice fences, new stone walkways and gardens, and copper lanterns for a total transformation from the street. Ken Gutmaker

Situated in Kenwood, Maryland just outside of Washington, D.C., this whole-house renovation reinterprets a 1950s split-level into a rustic French country house. Published 3 times, The French country house plans for this renovation inform and guide the remodel. Short double-hung existing windows of various sizes on a 1950s brick front wall (see below) were replaced by straightforward openings along the front facade. By replacing them with a series of similar openings, the end result is a principled, simple elegance inspired by French country style homes. The rustic application of field stone arches and rough stucco are both inviting and enchanting, echoing French country interior design. Elements of French country home decor complement the home. The traditional French country home design has been widely published, including features in Renovation Style and Maryland Life magazines, among others. One singular continuous walkway runs the entire length of the main front under each of the French doors, and a courtyard created by stucco walls and stone piers create an inner sanctum in the front yard. In the back of the property, added French gates lead to this newly constructed pavilion.
