All of the cabinets in this kitchen, that has been featured on Houzz, were originally the same dark wood stain as the island. The client hired us to lighten things up and we did just that by changing the perimeter cabinets to a soft white and installing a highly reflective custom moorish tile glass backsplash in the same colour. We kept the island as it was and referenced the darker colour in the bronze pendant lights and perimeter hardware. Interior Design by Lori Steeves of Simply Home Decorating Inc. In this serene family home we worked in a palette of soft gray/blues and warm walnut wood tones that complimented the clients' collection of original South African artwork. We happily incorporated vintage items passed down from relatives and treasured family photos creating a very personal home where this family can relax and unwind. In the kitchen we consulted on the layout and finishes including cabinetry finish, tile floors, countertops, backsplash, furniture and accessories with stunning results. L shaped oak shaker kitchen cabinetry. The cabinets are painted in Farrow & Ball Ammonite. The worktop is engineered quartz. The raised breakfast bar has an oak worktop.
