Designed by architect Jeremiah Battles of Acacia Architects and built by Ben Quie & Sons, this beautiful new home features details found a century ago, combined with a creative use of space and technology to meet the owner’s mobility needs. Even the elevator is detailed with quarter-sawn oak paneling. Feeling as though it has been here for generations, this home combines architectural salvage with creative design. The owner brought in vintage lighting fixtures, a Tudor fireplace surround, and beveled glass for windows and doors. The kitchen pendants and sconces were custom made to match a 1912 Sheffield fixture she had found. Quarter-sawn oak in the living room, dining room, and kitchen, and flat-sawn oak in the pantry, den, and powder room accent the traditional feel of this brand-new home.

Purple Cherry ArchitectsThe timber-framed stone pool house with kitchen and full bath provides year round activity and entertainment, features a six-foot masonry fireplace, and visually connects to a timber-framed barn accessory structure. Mounted above the stone fireplace designed by Purple Cherry Architects, are Indonesian Medan masks. The unique African sculpture in the right corner was crafted from a hollowed tree trunk and uses natural materials to create the facial features. This indoor pool is truly a stunning space.

Smith & Vansant Architects PCThis salvaged kitchen sink was found awhile ago by the client who new she wanted to use it if ever she renovated. Integrated beautifully into the Danby marble countertop and backsplash with new fixtures it is a real joy to clean up.
This kitchen was formerly a dark paneled, cluttered, divided space with little natural light. By eliminating partitions and creating an open floorplan, as well as adding modern windows with traditional detailing, providing lovingly detailed built-ins for the clients extensive collection of beautiful dishes, and lightening up the color palette we were able to create a rather miraculous transformation.

Accessories are an eclectic mix of things I brought in mixed with the girl's own art creations. Additional pillows reflect their heritage.

The navy blue floating double vanity is matched with an all white quartz countertop, Pirellone sink faucets, and a large linen closet. The bathroom floor is brought to life with a basket weave mosaic tile that continues into the large walk in shower, with both a rain shower-head and handheld shower head.
