Santa Cruz, CA - This custom architectural garage door and gate project in the Northern California area was designed in a Spanish Colonial style and crafted by hand to capture that charming appeal of old world door craftsmanship found throughout Europe. The custom home was exquisitely built without sparing a single detail that would engulf the Spanish Colonial authentic architectural design. Beautiful, hand-selected terracotta roof tiles and white plastered walls just like in historical homes in Colonial Spain were used for this home construction, not to mention the wooden beam detailing particularly on the bay window above the garage. All these authentic Spanish Colonial architectural elements made this home the perfect backdrop for our custom Spanish Colonial Garage Doors and Gates.

This Dutch Colonial Style Home in Wilmette, IL was remodeled by Siding & Windows Group with HardiePlank Select Cedarmill Lap Siding in ColorPlus Technology Color Light Mist and HardieTrim Smooth Boards in ColorPlus Technology Color Arctic White. Also installed Beechworth Fiberglass Windows and Fypon Shutters in Custom Color by Sherwin Williams and remodeled the Front Entry Portico with White Wood Columns.

This Chicago, IL Dutch Colonial Style Home was remodeled by Siding & Windows Group with James HardiePlank Select Cedarmill Lap Siding and HardieTrim Smooth Boards in ColorPlus Technology Color Arctic White plus Hardie Soffit. Also re-did Arched Front Entry, installed Vinyl Fypon Shutters in Black with crossheads, top and bottom frieze boards.

The landscape of this home honors the formality of Spanish Colonial / Santa Barbara Style early homes in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix. By re-grading the lot and allowing for terraced opportunities, we featured a variety of hardscape stone, brick, and decorative tiles that reinforce the eclectic Spanish Colonial feel. Cantera and La Negra volcanic stone, brick, natural field stone, and handcrafted Spanish decorative tiles are used to establish interest throughout the property. A front courtyard patio includes a hand painted tile fountain and sitting area near the outdoor fire place. This patio features formal Boxwood hedges, Hibiscus, and a rose garden set in pea gravel. The living room of the home opens to an outdoor living area which is raised three feet above the pool. This allowed for opportunity to feature handcrafted Spanish tiles and raised planters. The side courtyard, with stepping stones and Dichondra grass, surrounds a focal Crape Myrtle tree. One focal point of the back patio is a 24-foot hand-hammered wrought iron trellis, anchored with a stone wall water feature. We added a pizza oven and barbecue, bistro lights, and hanging flower baskets to complete the intimate outdoor dining space. The upholstered bench is an easy way to work a little bit of the tropical resort vibe into any room, and features a naturally-chic base crafted from leather-wrapped, bent rattan. The wood finish is a cozy, aged medium brown patina, but the upholstered cushion can be customized in any fabric that best fits your room decor. Double up the benches and use them at the foot of your bed or as a living room accent.

Location: Spring Lake, NJ, US Our design goal for this renovation and addition was to present a modern interpretation of Colonial Plantation Style. This home features dark wood floors, wood paneling and a light soothing color scheme. The Dining Room features classic silk De Gournay Wallpaper which further fuses the indoor and outdoor seamlessness of the home. The amazing tile installations permeate the decor with color, texture and pattern. The shaker-style kitchen is refreshed by using black cabinetry, a custom stainless hood and La Cornue Range. The 2021 Southern Living Idea House is inspiring on multiple levels—from the stunning location in Louisville, Kentucky overlooking the Ohio river, to the design-driven home that marries European countryside vibes with a timeless aesthetic. Dubbed the “forever home,” the concept was to design for all stages of life, with thoughtful spaces that meet the ever-evolving needs of families today. The 5,545-square-foot, Colonial Greek Revival Cottage-style home is located in The Breakers at Prospect community and is the collective effort of many. While it may have formerly been a trend to embrace open layout living spaces, following the pandemic families are seeking spaces in the home that feel separated, to allow for privacy. Rooms with clear intentions allow more options for areas in which to spend time, depending on your mood, and this home perfectly balances livable and lively ideas. Marvin products were chosen for this project to maximize the use of natural light, allow airflow from outdoors to indoors, and provide expansive views that overlook the Ohio River. This tropical kitchen takes advantage of good views and an open floor plan for frequent hosting of guests. The octagonal shaped island allows the homeowner to simultaneously cook and entertain in a teppanyaki style atmosphere. Guests are given a front-row seat to the action. A built-in, bamboo storage bench with matching table provides additional seating and a comfortable breakfast nook in the mornings.

The client’s coastal New England roots inspired this Shingle style design for a lakefront lot. With a background in interior design, her ideas strongly influenced the process, presenting both challenge and reward in executing her exact vision. Vintage coastal style grounds a thoroughly modern open floor plan, designed to house a busy family with three active children. A primary focus was the kitchen, and more importantly, the butler’s pantry tucked behind it. Flowing logically from the garage entry and mudroom, and with two access points from the main kitchen, it fulfills the utilitarian functions of storage and prep, leaving the main kitchen free to shine as an integral part of the open living area.
