With versatile adjustable shelves, a massive storage capacity, and plenty of innovative features, Allavino's all-new 2X-YHWR305-1ST Dual-Zone Wine Cellar Refrigerator is the answer to all of your wine storage needs. Made up of two single zone 305-bottle wine refrigerators with opposite hinged doors, it can store an impressive 610 bottles of red and white wine in two distinct zones, each independently controlled using a clear digital display with user-friendly push button controls. Thanks to storage shelves that can be adjusted in 1-1/4" increments to accommodate larger bottles, you are no longer limited in the types of wine that you can store, allowing you complete customization for your personal storage needs.
Dual-Zone Digital Temperature Control:The 2X-YHWR305-1ST features two individual temperature zones that can each be set between 41°F and 72°F, allowing you to store all red, all white, or both red and white wines depending on your needs. Each zone is adjusted using a digital display with push button controls that make controlling your wine's environment easier than ever. For added convenience, you can easily monitor the lighted temperature displays through the glass at any time without needing to open the doors.
Fan-Forced Cooling:To provide additional cooling and help prevent large differences in temperature between the upper and lower zones, internal fans circulate air throughout the cabinets. These fan reduce initial cool down time by 50% and create a frost-free environment so you will not have to hassle with defrosting the unit.
Blue LED Interior Lights:Find the perfect bottle quickly and easily thanks to the YHWR305-1ST's cool blue LED lights, which illuminate your bottles without the heat created by incandescent bulbs. You can leave these lights on to show off your collection without needing to worry about a harmful hot spot affecting your wine.
Easy Rolling Hardwood Shelves:This wine cellar can safely store up to 610 standard size wine bottles on it's extra thick hardwood shelves, which glide-out smoothly on ball bearing tracks to provide easy access to every bottle. Twenty shelves can store up to 28 standard size bottles each, and two bottom shelves can store larger bottles or up to 25 standard bottles. Each shelf can be adjusted in 1-1/4" increments to accommodate larger diameter bottles.
Tinted Glass Door with Lock:Frost-free and condensation-free UV-protected glass doors provide an excellent view of your wine while keeping it safe from harmful light. The door comes equipped with a built-in key lock for added security, and two keys are included so that you can always have a spare on hand.

7RR-Ecohome:
The design objective was to build a house for a couple recently married who both had kids from previous marriages. How to bridge two families together?
The design looks forward in terms of how people live today. The home is an experiment in transparency and solid form; removing borders and edges from outside to inside the house, and to really depict “flowing and endless space”. The house floor plan is derived by pushing and pulling the house’s form to maximize the backyard and minimize the public front yard while welcoming the sun in key rooms by rotating the house 45-degrees to true north. The angular form of the house is a result of the family’s program, the zoning rules, the lot’s attributes, and the sun’s path. We wanted to construct a house that is smart and efficient in terms of construction and energy, both in terms of the building and the user. We could tell a story of how the house is built in terms of the constructability, structure and enclosure, with a nod to Japanese wood construction in the method in which the siding is installed and the exposed interior beams are placed in the double height space. We engineered the house to be smart which not only looks modern but acts modern; every aspect of user control is simplified to a digital touch button, whether lights, shades, blinds, HVAC, communication, audio, video, or security. We developed a planning module based on a 6-foot square room size and a 6-foot wide connector called an interstitial space for hallways, bathrooms, stairs and mechanical, which keeps the rooms pure and uncluttered. The house is 6,200 SF of livable space, plus garage and basement gallery for a total of 9,200 SF. A large formal foyer celebrates the entry and opens up to the living, dining, kitchen and family rooms all focused on the rear garden. The east side of the second floor is the Master wing and a center bridge connects it to the kid’s wing on the west. Second floor terraces and sunscreens provide views and shade in this suburban setting. The playful mathematical grid of the house in the x, y and z axis also extends into the layout of the trees and hard-scapes, all centered on a suburban one-acre lot.
Many green attributes were designed into the home; Ipe wood sunscreens and window shades block out unwanted solar gain in summer, but allow winter sun in. Patio door and operable windows provide ample opportunity for natural ventilation throughout the open floor plan. Minimal windows on east and west sides to reduce heat loss in winter and unwanted gains in summer. Open floor plan and large window expanse reduces lighting demands and maximizes available daylight. Skylights provide natural light to the basement rooms. Durable, low-maintenance exterior materials include stone, ipe wood siding and decking, and concrete roof pavers. Design is based on a 2' planning grid to minimize construction waste. Basement foundation walls and slab are highly insulated. FSC-certified walnut wood flooring was used. Light colored concrete roof pavers to reduce cooling loads by as much as 15%. 2x6 framing allows for more insulation and energy savings. Super efficient windows have low-E argon gas filled units, and thermally insulated aluminum frames. Permeable brick and stone pavers reduce the site’s storm-water runoff. Countertops use recycled composite materials. Energy-Star rated furnaces and smart thermostats are located throughout the house to minimize duct runs and avoid energy loss. Energy-Star rated boiler that heats up both radiant floors and domestic hot water. Low-flow toilets and plumbing fixtures are used to conserve water usage. No VOC finish options and direct venting fireplaces maintain a high interior air quality. Smart home system controls lighting, HVAC, and shades to better manage energy use. Plumbing runs through interior walls reducing possibilities of heat loss and freezing problems. A large food pantry was placed next to kitchen to reduce trips to the grocery store. Home office reduces need for automobile transit and associated CO2 footprint. Plan allows for aging in place, with guest suite than can become the master suite, with no need to move as family members mature.

This salvaged kitchen sink was found awhile ago by the client who new she wanted to use it if ever she renovated. Integrated beautifully into the Danby marble countertop and backsplash with new fixtures it is a real joy to clean up.
This kitchen was formerly a dark paneled, cluttered, divided space with little natural light. By eliminating partitions and creating an open floorplan, as well as adding modern windows with traditional detailing, providing lovingly detailed built-ins for the clients extensive collection of beautiful dishes, and lightening up the color palette we were able to create a rather miraculous transformation.

Inspiration for a contemporary dark wood floor family room remodel in Chicago with beige walls, a ribbon fireplace and a tv stand

Mid-Century Remodel on Tabor Hill
This sensitively sited house was designed by Robert Coolidge, a renowned architect and grandson of President Calvin Coolidge. The house features a symmetrical gable roof and beautiful floor to ceiling glass facing due south, smartly oriented for passive solar heating. Situated on a steep lot, the house is primarily a single story that steps down to a family room. This lower level opens to a New England exterior. Our goals for this project were to maintain the integrity of the original design while creating more modern spaces. Our design team worked to envision what Coolidge himself might have designed if he'd had access to modern materials and fixtures.
With the aim of creating a signature space that ties together the living, dining, and kitchen areas, we designed a variation on the 1950's "floating kitchen." In this inviting assembly, the kitchen is located away from exterior walls, which allows views from the floor-to-ceiling glass to remain uninterrupted by cabinetry.
We updated rooms throughout the house; installing modern features that pay homage to the fine, sleek lines of the original design. Finally, we opened the family room to a terrace featuring a fire pit. Since a hallmark of our design is the diminishment of the hard line between interior and exterior, we were especially pleased for the opportunity to update this classic work.

The epitome of relaxation, this shower offers the answer to day-time stress! With 6 body sprays, fixed and hand-held shower heads, as well as a rain shower head and steam unit, this homeowner can wash away the tensions of the day. Easy to clean, large-scale porcelain tile walls, along with the pebble shower floor and glass mosaic tiles, add to the ambiance of privacy and luxury.
