Inspiration for a timeless red brick exterior home remodel in New York

A young Mexican couple approached us to create a streamline modern and fresh home for their growing family. They expressed a desire for natural textures and finishes such as natural stone and a variety of woods to juxtapose against a clean linear white backdrop. For the kid’s rooms we are staying within the modern and fresh feel of the house while bringing in pops of bright color such as lime green. We are looking to incorporate interactive features such as a chalkboard wall and fun unique kid size furniture. The bathrooms are very linear and play with the concept of planes in the use of materials.They will be a study in contrasting and complementary textures established with tiles from resin inlaid with pebbles to a long porcelain tile that resembles wood grain. This beautiful house is a 5 bedroom home located in Presidential Estates in Aventura, FL.

This beautiful 2 story kitchen remodel was created by removing an unwanted bedroom. The increased ceiling height was conceived by adding some structural columns and a triple barrel arch, creating a usable balcony that connects to the original back stairwell and overlooks the Kitchen as well as the Greatroom. This dramatic renovation took place without disturbing the original 100yr. old stone exterior and maintaining the original french doors above the balcony.

This room features a linear bare bulb chandelier and the original hardwood floor which is over 80 years old and not replicable today. The chair is the Charles Eames' 50 year old lounge chair and ottoman. Hi, The fireplace is travertine marble. The travertine is Birched Honed by Realstone from their Collection Series. This is made of many tile pieces from 16"x16 .The fireplace mantle is cut from Silk Georgette stone, a type of grey marble.

This stunning neo classical home is ready for the next century. New features include generous kitchen and mudroom wing, elliptical arched breakfast bay, sunroom wing, 8 bathrooms, 2 laundry rooms, wood paneled elevator, many windows and doors, and a side porch. Extensive restoration was completed on the formal living and dining rooms, library, family room, 7 bedrooms, three story foyer, and 7 fireplaces – most with original mantels. New custom cabinetry features vintage glass, leaded glass, beaded inset doors and drawers, and vintage hardware. We created a seamless blend of new and restored historical details throughout this elegant home while adding modern amenities.

No detail overlooked, one will note, as this beautiful Traditional Colonial was constructed – from perfectly placed custom moldings to quarter sawn white oak flooring. The moment one steps into the foyer the details of this home come to life. The homes light and airy feel stems from floor to ceiling with windows spanning the back of the home with an impressive bank of doors leading to beautifully manicured gardens.
