Clopay Avante Collection glass garage doors play a key role in the magical, translucent calm that prevails the newly completed Sagaponack, Long Island Modern Green Barn. Inspired by the vernacular potato barns of Long Island’s East End, this unique, energy efficient home is one of the most innovative new designs in the Hamptons. It will receive six third party ratings, including LEED for Homes and National Green Building Standard.
Large open spaces create dramatic views, and light and structure is infused into every space. As the sun sets, the Kalwall gable ends and ridge skylights shed soft light to the outside and the pilaster lanterns and etched glass Clopay Garage Doors begin to glow. Every room connects to the outdoors, and the transition between many of the rooms and outdoor spaces is seamless. The abundance of woods on the interior and exterior, and the finishes and warm colors, make it warm and inviting.

A European-California influenced Custom Home sits on a hill side with an incredible sunset view of Saratoga Lake. This exterior is finished with reclaimed Cypress, Stucco and Stone. While inside, the gourmet kitchen, dining and living areas, custom office/lounge and Witt designed and built yoga studio create a perfect space for entertaining and relaxation. Nestle in the sun soaked veranda or unwind in the spa-like master bath; this home has it all. Photos by Randall Perry Photography.

Leave no space unused. That was the directive when we developed this pantry and we met the challenge. Tray dividers, ladder storage, pullout baskets for potatoes and onions and high shelves for seasonal items- we got it all in there. Note the use of slatwall and hooks to make use of an otherwise dead wall on the left. This is a highly effective solution for areas where flat, shallow storage is required. A little wine storage is accommodated under the window by simply spacing our shelves closely together. A custom solution for tiny spaces that yields big results.

Artichoke worked with the renowned interior designer Ilse Crawford to develop the style of this bespoke kitchen in a Grade II listed Regency house. We made two furniture ‘elements’ providing the main functions for the kitchen. Care has been taken not to interfere with the original interior architecture of the room. Tall Georgian windows enable light to flood over the furniture as well as providing delightful views of the grounds. Limited palettes of fine quality materials help create the feeling of an art installation, enhancing the drama of this fabulous room.
Primary materials: Bookmatched Statuary marble and hand burnished gloss pigmented lacquer. The kitchen scullery is in English oak, finished in soap, a traditional Georgian period finish.

Charles’ design is inspired by the Scottish landscape which is reflected in the earthly tones. The rug is woven chenille with the rough look of tweed. Using a fine chenille yarn in wool and linen, the herringbone pattern is woven and has been specially developed for this rug, making it unique. The use of linen yarn conveys a glistening beautiful finish to this rug.

This pantry was even more of a pleasure to do because it was for a lovely friend of mine, Dia and her husband Greg. They have purchased a new home and completed their renovation and are now ready to move in. Dia has been speaking to me for months asking me to come and help her set up her pantry and now that they are finally ready to move, we booked it in and got them organised!
As you can see, they have a beautiful blank pantry canvas to work with, built by Greg. The movers had dropped all the moving boxes into the relevant rooms so our first task was to categorise everything to give us a good visual of how many items are in each category and help us to develop our shopping list.
After a quick trip to the shops we had all the product we needed to bring this pantry to life. Some of the highlights of this pantry were the bottom row baskets to house backstock, shopping bags, drink bottles and plastic containers, the wooden trays for onions and potatoes and the turntable for oils and vinegar. This was so much fun to put together and such a large pantry too!
