This fall, Amethyst had the opportunity to partner with Freeman Custom Homes of Kansas City to furnish this 5000 sq ft European Modern designed home for the Artisan Home Tour 2020! Every square inch of this home was magical -- from the secret staircase in the master bath leading to a private shuttered plunge pool to the vaulted kitchen with sky high mushroom colored cabinetry and handmade zellige tile. We met the builders during the cabinetry phase and watching their final, thoughtful design details evolve was such full of over-the-top surprises like the unique valet-like storage in the entry and limestone fireplace! As soon as we saw their vision for the home, we knew our furnishings would be a great match as our design style celebrates handmade rugs, artisan handmade custom seating, old-meets-new art, and let's be honest -- we love to go big! They trusted us to do our thing on the entire main level and we enjoyed every minute. The load in took 3 full trucks and fortunately for us -- the homeowners fell in love with several pieces so our uninstall trip was significantly lighter. Sonoma, the word describes the feeling and emotion of our home. An open floor plan, master on the main level and windows, windows, windows to capture the spectacular views from Altamont, some of the absolute best in all of Portland. Volumes of space yet maintaining a warm and comfortable scale, Sonoma welcomes.

Designed by Interior Designer, A. Lantz Design, this Lake Charlevoix project was featured on the cover of Traditional Home magazine! This is the second primary bedroom suite in the home and it's located on the second level. The lake views from this bedroom's windows are incredible. We wanted to pull out the emotion evoked as one is looking out the window to take in the serene landscapes and showcase it around the room. We chose a soft sky blue wall color around the entire bedroom. We had a custom headboard slipcover created for the upholstered bed in which you can tie little bows on each side for a touch of whimsy. We matched the slipcover pattern and added it to the bench at the foot of the bed. To give a little weight to the room, we chose a darker shade of blue for the bedding but with an elegant creamy white, small beaded trim. We mirrored this look on the window treatments as well. In looking at the little bump out by the window, we knew we had to drop in a lovely sitting area so we added a classic white wicker rocker with a blue and white cushion, a blue wicker side table for easy book storage, a dainty antique brass reading floor lamp, and hung an original painting by Barry Lantz. We wanted to go neutral with the area rug to keep the space cozy.
