This backyard patio garden was transformed with the client’s goal of minimizing lawn and creating intimate gathering space. Layered perennial beds are filled with a rich diversity of texture, form and color, enveloping the patio with stunning 3-dimensional views. Take a wander into the planting and you’ll find a meandering exploratory pathway that immerses you in nature’s sounds, movement and smells, up close. This grassy channel also provides the kids fun access from one playing area to the next, hidden from the grown-ups, free to roam and explore.

Winner of the 2021 Go For The Green Award for Green Design and Development for residential meadow conversion recognized by Lower Merion Township Environmental Advisory Council (EAC). This Bryn Mawr landscape was transformed from a lawn to a half-acre meadow wrapping around the home. The dynamic combination of grasses, native wildflowers, trees and shrubs changes appearance throughout the season while providing a lush year-round habitat for wildlife. Unseen to onlookers, the meadow offers meandering exploratory pathways that immerse you in nature’s sounds, movement and smells, up close. These grassy channels also provide children fun access routes from one playing area to the next, hidden from the grown-ups, free to roam and explore. Dense perennial plantings enveloping the formerly underused patio create an intimate and immersive gathering space; beckoning its inhabitants with a daily dose of drama and beauty.

An unfortunate water leak forced these homeowners to entertain a remodel of their kitchen. The previous kitchen had dark builder grade cabinets with little function and even less style. After some great exploratory conversations The words "classic, clean and functional" kept coming up. What's more classic then a white kitchen with marble? We didn't want the kitchen to appear sterile so we added dark grey cabinets for contrast and light grey counter tops to soften. Creating a focal point at the beautiful kitchen window and it's view were key. I tiled the whole wall in marble subway tile to really highlight the gorgeous natural stone. I used frosted glass in the cabinets so the light would come through, but the contents were still somewhat hidden. The butlers pantry tile has a geometric pattern for a bit more pop. The upper cabinet's decorative mullions are similar in style to the window cabinets. The homeowners like to cook and entertain so I packed a lot of function into the island. It houses the cook top with downdraft, spice pull out, knife/utensil pullout, and tray dividers. New bar stools and a dining set complete the look

The high ceilings, bright light and views make this second floor office an ideal place for relaxation. A n elephants foot holds mail.

Small Space With
Lots Of Opportunity
This one bedroom residence began as a blank canvas, with ample opportunity to be developed into a vivid interior artwork. The client’s fun taste lead to 3F Living pumping up the design with bright, pop decor. The variety of wall coverings creates an intriguing backdrop, from the living area’s stormy blue paint, to the abstract geometric wallpaper behind the customized work desk. In contrast to the brilliant tone depth on the walls, the windows are left as clean silhouettes, letting a filtered wash of light into the apartment throughout the day.
Ambient light fixtures enhance the soft, natural light filling the interior. The pendant light above the living area, is reminiscent of a paper lantern, but with a sophisticated touch. The white tones of the lantern and window shades alike are repeated in the high polished coffee table and the custom designed frame of the mirror hanging above the sofa.
The dining area’s powder blue walls become the scape for a wall clock with bright dots of primary colors representing each numeral. Mirroring the scattered layout of the circular points of color is a series of custom designed globe pendant lights, which sweep across the ceiling. The blue pallet is given more emphasis with the bright blue dining chairs. Across from the dining table is a set of open vertical shelving that houses a rainbow of books. Not only the shelving, but also the books themselves become another chromatic accent in the space.
The design for the apartment successfully plays with a parallel between creating a tranquil yet visually stimulating environment. The exploratory colors and lighting help execute this design intent flawlessly.
