Cottage kitchen photo in Philadelphia

This media room is personalized with a wall that features a past Christmas card photo of the homeowners' children, made possible by custom wallpaper. Its sepia tone palette is complemented with suede wallpaper on the adjoining walls. A sectional was chosen to provide ample seating, allowing the entirety of the client’s family to relax and hang out together in one place. This space is part of an open concept Kitchen/Family room . Various shades of gray, beige and white were used throughout the space. The poplar wood cocktail table adds a touch of warmth and helps to give the space an inviting look.

Furthering her plan to enhance the room's architecture, Suzanne turned one corner of the kitchen into a cheery dining area with an L-shaped built-in bench that mimics the cabinetry. To keep the dining nook cozy (not restaurant-like) she surrounded the metal bistro table with slipcovered armchairs and hung a sparkly chandelier above. Using the same patterned fabric on the window valances and pillows throughout (Montmartre in Clay/Blue from her own collection for Lee Jofa; leejofa.com), Suzanne introduced color and life to the kitchen without taking away from the all-white effect. Wall to wall custom cabinetry keeps the collections of books organized and graphically interesting. South facing windows allow light to permeate the space and flood the meeting room in daylight.
