Weathered Elegance Recently at DKOR Interiors, we were sought out to design a vacation home for a family from New York in at the Bath Club condominium building in Miami Beach, FL. We came up with several ideas and began developing a concept that included natural elements such as weathered woods and stone in an array of patterns. Oopsy Daisy: Create a space for a boy or girl that reflects their interests and personality. Bunk beds are a space saving must-have for shared rooms, or in expectation of guests. Separate the beds with a dresser to avoid a crowded feeling, and keep the kids facing the same way for late night chats. Over the dresser, we've displayed stretched canvas wall art featuring boys' favorite sports with personalized jerseys. Jones Segarra's Sports Locker art for kids series is the perfect wall decor to grow with your children. Add a name and sports number to any piece for artwork your little one is sure to be proud of. Colorful bedding in orange and blue complement the bold blue rug, and keep the room whimsical and relaxed. We like a look that coordinates colors, but isn't too "matchy-matchy". Segarra's collection also includes girls' sports with the same personalization options. Group multiples together for a gallery feel and a stunning, yet sporty, feature wall.

Grandpa Transforms Old Family Barn Into A Serious SNAPSPORTS® Multi-Sports Gym for his Grandchildren aka 'Crazy Critters'. Talk about a cool grandpa! He wanted to create a space when grandchildren come over to play all of their favorite sports. On the One Court, they can Safely Play basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, pickleball, futsal, inline hockey and more. That is one way to get the whole family to spend more time together :) This 65'x120' court features the multi-patented DuraCourt flooring, multi-game lines and a custom Crazy Critters family logo

Signature Design Interiors enjoyed transforming this family’s traditional basement into a modern family space for watching sports and movies that could also double as the perfect setting for entertaining friends and guests. Multiple comfortable seating areas were needed and a complete update to all the finishes, from top to bottom, was required. A classy color palette of platinum, champagne, and smoky gray ties all of the spaces together, while geometric shapes and patterns add pops of interest. Every surface was touched, from the flooring to the walls and ceilings and all new furnishings were added. One of the most traditional architectural features in the existing space was the red brick fireplace, accent wall and arches. We painted those white and gave it a distressed finish. Berber carpeting was replaced with an engineered wood flooring with a weathered texture, which is easy to maintain and clean. In the television viewing area, a microfiber sectional is accented with a series of hexagonal tables that have been grouped together to form a multi-surface coffee table with depth, creating an unexpected focal point to the room. A rich leather accent chair and luxe area rug with a modern floral pattern ties in the overall color scheme. New geometric patterned window treatments provide the perfect frame for the wall mounted flat screen television. Oval table lamps in a brushed silver finish add not only light, but also tons of style. Just behind the sofa, there is a custom designed console table with built-in electrical and USB outlets that is paired with leather stools for additional seating when needed. Floor outlets were installed under the sectional in order to get power to the console table. How’s that for charging convenience? Behind the TV area and beside the bar is a small sitting area. It had an existing metal pendant light, which served as a source of design inspiration to build upon. Here, we added a table for games with leather chairs that compliment those at the console table. The family’s sports memorabilia is featured on the walls and the floor is punctuated with a fantastic area rug that brings in our color theme and a dramatic geometric pattern. We are so pleased with the results and wish our clients many years of cheering on their favorite sports teams, watching movies, and hosting great parties in their new modern basement!

Designer, Joel Snayd. Beach house on Tybee Island in Savannah, GA. This two-story beach house was designed from the ground up by Rethink Design Studio -- architecture + interior design. The first floor living space is wide open allowing for large family gatherings. Old recycled beams were brought into the space to create interest and create natural divisions between the living, dining and kitchen. The crisp white butt joint paneling was offset using the cool gray slate tile below foot. The stairs and cabinets were painted a soft gray, roughly two shades lighter than the floor, and then topped off with a Carerra honed marble. This Family Room is designed for quality family time with plenty of function. A full wall of JWH Custom Cabinetry created balance and symmetry around the existing fireplace. The storage and display cabinets, wall panels, and built-in desk transformed this space. This client wanted a place he could work, watch his favorite sports and movies, and also entertain. A gorgeous rustic luxe man cave (media room and home office) for an avid hunter and whiskey connoisseur. Rich leather and velvet mixed with cement and industrial piping fit the bill, giving this space the perfect blend of masculine luxury with plenty of space to work and play.
