Eminent Interior Design
A growing young family with two daughters, this couple hired Brandi to complete their home’s interior decor. She loved working with these fantastic clients – they eagerly embraced a playful use of color and bold design choices! Finished in a colorful traditional style, this home is full of timeless architecture mixed with modern details. From a navy and bright orange office to a green floral dining room, each room on the main floor makes a unique statement but flows together through similar artwork and rugs. Upstairs, the master bedroom is a serene sanctuary. Brandi added wood beams, handmade wall coverings, and an extra custom-built closet. The two girls’ bedrooms are all about fun trends, personalized touches, and plenty of storage for their many prized possessions.

Design Connection, Inc.
Our client found Design Connection, Inc. through reading featured articles in local magazines for many years. Her home was 25 years old and never been updated. Their furniture and accessories were well past their prime. The brick fireplace, the focal point of the room, looked dark and dingy. Upon completion of our first interview with the client I realized her style was transitional and the facade of the fireplace would not work with her new furnishings as well as the golden oak paneling.
We brought in our very talented faux painter to access the paneling about changing the color to a soft neutral glow and we completed the transformation in one a very short time.

This successful Financial Advisor’s office needed to exude a feeling of strength and sophistication, but be understated in its elegance. Instead of the expected traditional cherry wood furnishings, the lounge area features strong, classic modern furniture upholstered in black leather and grey wool flannel. At the far end of the space, we added a custom walnut and stainless steel wall unit composed of floating shelves, a flat-screen TV, and a bar. Black and white photography, featuring Detroit landmarks, and drapery panels complete the space. My client tells me he’s more productive than ever.
Since our client’s office was long and somewhat narrow, we placed the door in the center of the space to divide it into two distinct areas-- lounge and work. The “work” side needed to function for both our executive’s desk AND conference area for team and client meetings. The solution: this extra-long, custom walnut desk. The desk’s “backsplash” is white milk glass, and can be used as a dry-erase board. Everything’s hidden- even the printer is in a drawer. Talk about feeling organized! Photo by Chani Devers.

The vision the partners in this financial advisors office had that it be a welcoming and relaxing space. Instead of a conference room table, they asked for a sofa and a living room atmosphere. They are both outdoor enthusiasts and wanted that reflected in the natural materials used in the design. A living wall seen as you enter the reception area adds to the sense of calm.
The office received new paint, carpet, doors, all new furniture and accessories.
