After reviving their kitchen, this couple was ready to tackle the master bathroom by getting rid of some Venetian plaster and a built in tub, removing fur downs and a bulky shower surround, and just making the entire space feel lighter, brighter, and bringing into a more mid-century style space. The cabinet is a freestanding furniture piece that we allowed the homeowner to purchase themselves to save a little bit on cost, and it came with prefabricated with a counter and undermount sinks. We installed 2 floating shelves in walnut above the commode to match the vanity piece. The faucets are Hansgrohe Talis S widespread in chrome, and the tub filler is from the same collection. The shower control, also from Hansgrohe, is the Ecostat S Pressure Balance with a Croma SAM Set Plus shower head set. The gorgeous freestanding soaking tub if from Jason - the Forma collection. The commode is a Toto Drake II two-piece, elongated. Tile was really fun to play with in this space so there is a pretty good mix. The floor tile is from Daltile in their Fabric Art Modern Textile in white. We kept is fairly simple on the vanity back wall, shower walls and tub surround walls with an Interceramic IC Brites White in their wall tile collection. A 1" hex on the shower floor is from Daltile - the Keystones collection. The accent tiles were very fun to choose and we settled on Daltile Natural Hues - Paprika in the shower, and Jade by the tub. The wall color was updated to a neutral Gray Screen from Sherwin Williams, with Extra White as the ceiling color.

Bathroom - bathroom idea

This gorgeous bath features WWWoods cabinetry with a maple wood and inset construction, Aspen door style, and a Silas stain with Graphite glaze finish. The eased edge countertops are Caesarstone’s 3cm Frosty Carrina complete with a splashette. In the shower you will see various Interceramic tiles which include: Brites White Glossy 4-1/4x8-1/2 in a horizontal straight lay on the walls, the shower floor and accent in a Penny Round in Urban Blend finish, and the main floor features a brick lay of 12x24 Interceramic Versailles Chateaux in Ivoire Matte finish. Various bathroom fixtures include: Faucet – Hansgrohe Metric C Widespread in Chrome, Rain Shower Head – Hansgrohe Croma AIR Jet in Chrome, Shower Arm- Hansgrohe Radiance in Chrome, Control Valve- Hansgrohe Ecostat Thermostatic Trim in Chrome, Handheld Showerhead- Hansgrohe Croma in Chrome, Showerhead Holder- Hansgrohe Techniflex, Toilet- Toto Drake two-piece in Cotton, Lavatories- Toto Dartmouth in Cotton, Shower Bench- Mr. Steam MS Wallseat in Teak. Other fixtures include: toilet paper holder, towel rings, towel bars from Hansgrohe in Chrome, Granby Chrome Three-Light vanity sconces from Kichler, and Ringed Knobs from Top Knobs in a Polished Chrome finish.

The reconfiguration of the master bathroom opened up the space by pairing a platform shower with a freestanding tub. The open shower, wall-hung vanity, and wall-hung water closet create continuous flooring and an expansive feeling. The result is a welcoming space with a calming aesthetic.

I designed custom blackened steel beam covers to fit around existing plaster beams. This allowed me to incorporate lighting in a location that had no power supply. I had the steel fabricated to follow and fit the existing amazing scalloped ceiling. White lacquer cabinets and a thick, solid, stone slab kitchen island keeps the feeling fresh and provides dramatic contrast to the dark floor and steel. Photos by: Seth Caplan

The bathrooms feature water-saving fixtures, the WaterSense-certified Axor Citterio single handle faucet. An Axor Citterio Tub Filler and Hansgrohe showerhead can be found in the master bath. This luxurious master bathroom had the ultimate transformation! The elegant tiled walls, Big Bang Chandelier and led lighting brighten all of the details. It features a Bain Ultra Essencia Freestanding Thermo- masseur tub and Hansgrohe showerheads and Mr. Steam shower with body sprays. The onyx countertops and Hansgrohe Massaud faucets dress the cabinets in pure elegance while the heated tile floors warm the entire space.
