Built in a contemporary, yet distinctly Pacific Northwest style, the Orcas House sits just steps away from the Salish Sea. With special attention given to existing trees, solar exposure and views from the house, this house was built to coexist harmoniously with its surroundings

Timeless elegance meets refined artistry in this beautifully curated living space in Clearwater, FL, and Tampa. The deep, golden hues of the walls set a warm and inviting atmosphere, accentuated by the soft glow of an intricate crystal chandelier. Anchoring the room is a stately grand piano, poised for moments of music and entertainment. French doors framed with lavish drapery offer a picturesque view, flooding the space with natural light that highlights the exquisite craftsmanship of the hardwood flooring. Antique-inspired furniture blends seamlessly with rich textures, from the ornately carved coffee table to the plush upholstered seating. A traditional fireplace, adorned with carefully selected décor, enhances the room’s cozy yet regal feel. Subtle touches, such as the gold-framed mirror and classic wall sconces, add to the refined aesthetic, making this a space where sophistication and comfort harmoniously coexist.

Blending contemporary and historic styles requires innovative design and a well-balanced aesthetic. That was the challenge we faced in creating a modern kitchen for this historic home in Lynnfield, MA. The final design retained the classically beautiful spatial and structural elements of the home while introducing a sleek sophistication. We mixed the two design palettes carefully. For instance, juxtaposing the warm, distressed wood of an original door with the smooth, brightness of non-paneled, maple cabinetry. A cork floor and accent cabinets of white metal add texture while a seated, step-down peninsula and built in bookcase create an open transition from the kitchen proper to an inviting dining space. This is truly a space where the past and present can coexist harmoniously.

At Native Edge Landscape, we believe that outdoor spaces are canvases for artistic expression and harmonious design. In one of our recent projects, we had the opportunity to create a breathtaking pergola that seamlessly blended with the surrounding environment while showcasing the unique artful taste of our clients. Join us as we explore the captivating details of this design and the meticulous craftsmanship that went into creating a truly remarkable outdoor space.
The Pergola: A Perfect Fusion of Steel and Cedar
The focal point of this project is undoubtedly the large pergola, which we carefully constructed from steel C-channel and rough cedar purlins. The combination of these materials resulted in a striking aesthetic that effortlessly marries strength and natural beauty. The warm tones of each play off one another and come alive in the sunlight, while the alternating basketweave layout of the slats offer even more visual interest as well as variation in the provided shade. The design concept was carefully planned to ensure the purlins fit snugly into the channel, cleverly concealing any visible fasteners. This attention to detail adds to the sleek and streamlined appearance of the pergola, elevating its visual appeal and rustic elegance.
Working in Harmony with Nature
One of the most remarkable aspects of this project is how the pergola and the clam shell-colored Trex deck were thoughtfully designed to complement and highlight the existing large red oak tree. Rather than overshadowing or competing with its natural beauty, the design gracefully worked around the tree, creating a harmonious coexistence between human craftsmanship and nature's elegance.
Mid-Century Modern Charm with an Artful Twist
While the overall design of the space exudes mid-century modern aesthetics, what truly makes this project stand out is the clients' unique and artful taste. Their personal touch can be seen in the selection of decor, furniture, and subtle embellishments that add character and personality to the space. The result is a stunning blend of timeless design principles and the clients' individual artistic expression, creating a truly one-of-a-kind outdoor sanctuary.
Craftsmanship that Inspires
Every element of this project, from the pergola's construction to the careful integration of existing natural features, is a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship of the Native Edge Landscape team. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, our designers and craftsmen brought the clients' vision to life, transforming their outdoor space into a work of art.

Originally a home with contemporary bones, this beautiful home now combines Old world elements and traditional detailing with fresh and modern twists. Old and new elements coexist in harmony throughout. Upon entrance, a large marble herringbone rug inset into rich wood floors stands ready to welcome and greet. Dual tone marble insets continue down the hallway in uniform repetition drawing the eye to the custom butler’s pantry at the end of the hall. The mini crystal chandeliers repeating down the hallway harmoniously mimic the flooring, further emphasizing its beauty.

New Electric collection of Atelier Tapis Rouge is meant to become a breakthrough of contemporary interior design. Based on the philosophy of natural light spectrum it harmoniously combines smoothness of organic forms, scientific creation basis and unique technology of production. This winning combination guarantees harmonious coexistence of futuristic design and sustainable approach changing the perception of rug from an interior design piece into an art object.
Unique trinity between intelligent natural forms, advance technology and science of material production became solid basis for absolutely new period of Design in 80-90s, being brilliantly expressed by timeless artists as Zacha Khadid (in architecture) or for instance Ross Legrove in technologic and later in fashion design.
The attraction and subtle elegance of organic shapes has been continuously growing bringing to the world new solutions for fashion and interior design. Following this tendence, we have created a futuristic collection of rugs, philosophical basis of which is the theory of photon spectrum. In chase of inspiration, we addressed behavior characteristics of each of 4 light rays caused by photon speed and as a result of this thorough work our Electric collection “saw the light”.

In the corner of the living room a wall-hung Ikea cabinet accommodates storage needs and display space in a straight-forward, yet stylish way. Jennifer topped the cabinet with a simple sheet of plywood which sets the stage for the arrangement on top.
Although the centerpiece of this area is the brass wall clock (another great garage sale find), the objects on display offer a variety of elements to engage with. Layering framed paintings that she sourced from Instagram, Jennifer has created a carefully curated spot that has depth in the arms of simplicity.
