By relocating the sink and dishwasher to the island the new kitchen layout allows the owners to engage with guests seated at the island and the banquette while maintaining a view to the outdoor terrace.

One of the bathrooms, with a custom vanity designed to look like a farm work table, and a marble top. Painted wide bead board and recessed wood framed medicine cabinet with industrial galvanized steel lights complete the aesthetic. Original wide board wood floors were restored.

This ceiling was designed and detailed by dSPACE Studio. We created a custom plaster mold that was fabricated by a Chicago plaster company and installed and finished on-site.

Inspiration for a craftsman home design remodel in San Francisco

the bamboo is a clumping variety called Bambusa eutuldoides viridi-vittata , Asian lemon bamboo. This variety is a clumper and you do not need to contain it, however, do allow an 8'by 10' area for its ultimate growth. Bamboo does require constant maintenance and you will need to do some research for the specific variety you choose.
