Inspiration for a transitional u-shaped light wood floor and beige floor kitchen remodel in Other with an undermount sink, shaker cabinets, gray backsplash, stainless steel appliances, a peninsula, white countertops, turquoise cabinets and window backsplash

Winner of the 2018 Tour of Homes Best Remodel, this whole house re-design of a 1963 Bennet & Johnson mid-century raised ranch home is a beautiful example of the magic we can weave through the application of more sustainable modern design principles to existing spaces. We worked closely with our client on extensive updates to create a modernized MCM gem. Extensive alterations include: - a completely redesigned floor plan to promote a more intuitive flow throughout - vaulted the ceilings over the great room to create an amazing entrance and feeling of inspired openness - redesigned entry and driveway to be more inviting and welcoming as well as to experientially set the mid-century modern stage - the removal of a visually disruptive load bearing central wall and chimney system that formerly partitioned the homes’ entry, dining, kitchen and living rooms from each other - added clerestory windows above the new kitchen to accentuate the new vaulted ceiling line and create a greater visual continuation of indoor to outdoor space - drastically increased the access to natural light by increasing window sizes and opening up the floor plan - placed natural wood elements throughout to provide a calming palette and cohesive Pacific Northwest feel - incorporated Universal Design principles to make the home Aging In Place ready with wide hallways and accessible spaces, including single-floor living if needed - moved and completely redesigned the stairway to work for the home’s occupants and be a part of the cohesive design aesthetic - mixed custom tile layouts with more traditional tiling to create fun and playful visual experiences - custom designed and sourced MCM specific elements such as the entry screen, cabinetry and lighting - development of the downstairs for potential future use by an assisted living caretaker - energy efficiency upgrades seamlessly woven in with much improved insulation, ductless mini splits and solar gain

This nursery was designed for my client in Santa Monica who wanted something expressly modern and unique. She fell in love with a gorgeous acrylic crib, and we pulled the rest of the design from that. All of the furniture is sleek and modern, and the room is light and bright. Natural modernism for a home on the park. A prominent Chicago lawyer and his beloved dogs live in this Modern Chicago Greystone. We consulted with Wheeler Kearns Architecture to create a warm and welcoming interior architecture that integrates seamlessly with the home’s modernist exterior and natural surroundings. Natural light and earthy materials, such as active limestones, warm woods, and reflective glass tiles, are used to comforting effect in the interior spaces. Wood window frames manipulate the play of light and highlight unobstructed views to Lincoln Park and Lake Michigan. The result is a uniquely integrated experience—from exterior to interior, modern to traditional.

The Pearl is a Contemporary styled Florida Tropical home. The Pearl was designed and built by Josh Wynne Construction. The design was a reflection of the unusually shaped lot which is quite pie shaped. Miami, for centuries since its discovery by early explorers, has lured new residents to its shores with the promise paradise in the Tropics. Located on the South Bank of the Miami River, and following the traditions of Tropical Living, this home designed by KI Architecture and Armando Montero R.A. LEED AP, incorporates design ideas that promote healthy living and mitigate Climate Change and Sea Level Rise threats in one of the most vulnerable areas in the Country. Miami and South Florida are often at the center of the Hurricane Track Forecast Cone and seasonal King Tides often flood streets. The resilient design ensures that disruptions due to natural disasters are minimized. The house structure and adjacent outdoor areas are raised above potential and future flood levels. The structure is hardened and protects the home from wind damage, and is capable of withstanding 180+ mph winds, and the home is designs to function off the grid using photovoltaic energy and other green strategies. Other incorporated sustainable strategies include capturing and re-using rainwater, treating sewage on site and reclaiming grey water to irrigate rooftop gardens and landscape, Roof tops not used for PV panels serve as green roofs and recreational decks that allow home vegetable farming even during flooded conditions. The house is also designed to maximize the well-being of the occupants by increasing the quality of air, water, natural lighting, and materials to create an environment that promotes physical and mental health.

Tube Product Manufacturer is responsible for all Product, Installation, Warranty, and Service of Tube Related issues. Solar Luminance is not responsible for any errors and/or omissions related the tube related issues that may arise. Solar Luminance will assist in sourcing a local and/or regional Daylight Tubular Product Supplier and Installer, to assist with Roof and Ceiling inspection and Tube supply and Installation. Solar Luminance is not responsible for the Tube Installers quality of work or service. All Secondary Electrical must be performed by a Licensed and/or certified Electrician and/or General Contractor. Solar Luminance is not responsible for the Installation of the fixture. Solar Luminance is not responsible for any errors and/or omissions, damaged and or fault or injury caused by the general contractor. Shipping and Payments Shipping and/or Freight is the responsibility of the purchaser. Solar Luminance will supply a quote based on the fixture size, weight, crating method and delivery location, prior to commencement of fabrication and production. All Finishes and Semi-Custom Modifications must be Signed and Approved via the Solar Luminance Client Approval Drawings, in order for your Custom Daylight Light Fixture to begin Fabrication and Production. Any and all Price adjustments and shipping and/or freight must be paid in full prior to shipment of product. Semi-Custom Product Shipment Lead Time is estimated at 6-10 Weeks, to begin upon receipt of all of the following: • Receipt of full payment • Receipt of signed & approved Client Approval Drawings • Receipt and Confirmation of Approved Finish and Materials • And Verification and Approval of All Price adjustments for Custom Modifications and Shipping and/or Freight Cost Return Policy Product must be inspected upon arrival and receipt of product, at the designated delivery location. Any damage must be reported to Solar Luminance in a written statement of reported damage, by email (Sales@SolarLuminance.com), along with dated and time stamped photo documentation of reported damage. Report of product damage must emailed within 24 hours of receipt of product. Solar Luminance will work with Purchaser and/or Purchasers Agents, to replace and/or fix any damaged and/or missing parts in a timely manner. If damage occurs and/or is reported beyond the 24 hour reporting period Solar Luminance maintains no liability and/or responsibility for the product and/or its condition.
