We used redwood to create a privacy screen above the regulated 6 foot concrete wall. This is a great way to keep out neighbors while still maintaining city code and regulations.

This penthouse was stripped to a raw concrete shell and the floor plan and plumbing were relocated to the clients desires. Materials are wood, stone and paint colors that were very muted and relaxed. The master bath features a stack Dakota blue limestone wall that was hand cut and laid. This material is not difficult to find and is labour intensive to finish. The master Bath was also clad in Cream marble. This intimate, interconnected landscape gives these homeowners three spaces that make being outside a joy. Low stucco walls create a courtyard near the front door that has as unique sense of privacy, making it a great place to pause and view the pond below. Under the deck the stucco walls wrap around a patio, creating a perfect place for a cool refuge from hot summer days. A custom-made fountain is integrated into the wall, a bed of lush flowers is woven into the bluestone, and a view to the surrounding landscape is framed by the posts of the deck above. The rear patio is made of large bluestone pieces. Grassy seams between the stone soften the hard surface. Towering evergreens create privacy, drifts of colorful perennials surround the seat walls, and clumps of Aspen trees define the entrance to this enchanting outdoor room. The homeowner wanted to create an enclosure around their built-in hot tub to add some privacy. The contractor, Husker Decks, designed a privacy wall with alternating materials. The aluminum privacy screen in 'River Rock' mixed with a horizontal wood wall in a rich stain blend to create a privacy wall that blends perfectly into the homeowner's backyard space and style.

Situated along the perimeter of the property, this unique home creates a continuous street wall, both preserving plenty of open yard space and maintaining privacy from the prominent street corner. A one-story mudroom connects the garage to the house at the rear of the lot which required a local zoning variance. The resulting L-shaped plan and the central location of a glass-enclosed stair allow natural light to enter the home from multiple sides of nearly every room. The Arts & Crafts inspired detailing creates a familiar yet unique facade that is sympathetic to the character and scale of the neighborhood.
