This whole house renovation done by Harry Braswell Inc. used Virginia Kitchen's design services (Erin Hoopes) and materials for the bathrooms, laundry and kitchens. The custom millwork was done to replicate the look of the cabinetry in the open concept family room. This completely custom renovation was eco-friend and is obtaining leed certification. This Gambrel style residence has been completely upgraded to satisfy todays’ standards while restoring and reinforcing the original 1885 design. It began as a Summer Cottage accessible by train from Boston, and is now a year round residence. The essence of the structure was maintained, while enhancing every detail. This project represents the evolution of a 10 acre space over more than three decades. It began with the pool and space around it. As the vegetable garden grew, the orchard was established and the display gardens blossomed. The prairie was restored and a kitchen was added to complete the space.
