This pond has a 44 mil liner to ensure a leak free swimming structure. The liner material is sensitive to sunlight and will eventually breakdown over the years if it is exposed. As a result, our team spent 3 days meticulously covering the entire pond liner with stone. Each small boulder is hand placed to ensure a perfect fit and not tear the liner in the building process. The amount of patients and effort by our crew is incredible and the result is always beautiful! The waterfall which adds to the natural feel of the pond was created with large stone shelves and a bog for natural filtration. All of our water features use natural filtration processes and no chemicals. We create a simulated bog which the water is pumped into and cleaned naturally though various levels of sand, stone and wetland plants.

Central Coast Waterproofing recently completed the waterproofing and decorative stamped concrete faux tile finish for a condominium complex in Los Angeles CA. The 3500 square foot roof deck over 28 condominium homes in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles had leaked soon after it was occupied. Three years later, the insurance company for the builder finally agreed to pay for repairs. Prime general contractor Cal-Building and Maintenance of Hawthorne selected Central Coast Waterproofing as their preferred sub-contractor to perform the critical waterproofing details need to install the ICC-ES Class A/One Hour fire resistive traffic coating assembly. Over an eight week schedule, the staff of Central Coast Waterproofing installed flashings to the deck to walls, sloped the deck to the drains and installed Desert Crete decking to waterproof the entire area. Shortly after the waterproofing was installed, the worst rains in Los Angeles in over seventy years occurred. The Desert Crete decking performed as expected, not one leak was reported after 16 inches of rain in December/January. The Desert Crete waterproofing was completed with a finished traffic surface, stamped and stained to look like tile. Desert Crete is an ICC-ES (ESR 1661) evaluated coating that has been determined to meet or exceed the 1997 Uniform Building Code and the 2006 International and Residential Building Codes. It is a Class A (ASTM E-108) and One Hour (ASTM E-119) fire resistant traffic coating, suitable for roof decks, balconies, stairs and hallways where fire codes must be met. The original decks on this house were cantilevered out over a 20' drop down a steep hillside. The inherent weakness of that design is that water sits on top of the cantilevered joists and rots them from the outside and into the house. The solution is to support the decks from the outside and make sure that water has no way in. That is what we did here, supporting the decks on 25' tall steep posts that anchor the decks to the ground and make them impervious to the elements. And with the deep green retrofit, the parents didn't have to worry about toxic chemical off-gassing or large utility bills for as long as the live in the home. Originally built on a 35 degree hillside the deep green retrofit and rebuild because of massive water leaks and mold damage make this one of the greenest homes in California. The home scored 272pts. on the Build it Green Green Point Rated system. and would have placed it at the Platinum level of LEED for Homes, had the homeowners wanted to spend the significant cost to get it LEED rated.
