This Corian-paneled shower has a definite spa quality to it, sporting three shampoo niches, a frameless shower enclosure with a handle that doubles as a towel rack, and no curb for easy accessibility. You would never guess that this used to be a tub! The showerhead is mounted on a slider bar so that any height is achievable, and lever handles make the valves easy to control. As noted, the porcelain tile planks adorn the shower walls to unify with the flooring. A small scale linear tile blend allows proper slope of the shower floor for good drainage to the trench drain. Caesarstone from the counter tops clads the shower curbs to create a cohesive look. A frameless glass enclosure lends to the spaciousness of the room, and the shampoo niche sports the same linear mosaic as the floor and the lintel above the shower opening (see other photo). Shower jets offer a full body massage, and a rain head suspended from the ceiling provides that tropical rain forest effect.... a complete bathing experience! Photo: Dan Bawden

Viewing the wet area, the iridescent tile mosaic can be seen traversing the perimeter of the room and lining the backs of the shampoo niches. A folding teak bench provides seating near the hand-held shower, while the grab bar is provided for aging-in-place consideration. The unusually-shaped corner tub sports a contemporary wall-mounted tub filler. Design: Laura Lerond. Photo: Dan Bawden.

In this compact master bath, quality has not been sacrificed for function. Using similar warm brown tones as the guest bath, this stained vanity sports a rectangular sink, 5/8" stone mosaic backsplash, and a custom-made mirror. All of the fixtures in the room are finished in an oil-rubbed bronze. Design: Lerond Design Studios. Photo: Dan Bawden.

This well-illuminated kitchen underwent some structural changes as walls came down and the laundry was shrunk to allow for a larger kitchen. A tankless water heater replaced the ubiquitous tank. Electrical and gas lines were run under the mixed-size, stone-look tile floors to allow for a gas stove top on the island. The island sports more of the beautiful granite from the countertops and provides ample space for dining-in or chatting over a couple glasses of wine. Illuminous glass tile in the backsplash winds its way around the kitchen. This is an extremely inviting culinary destination! Photo: Dan Bawden

This spacious kitchen is enhanced by white painted cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, attractive multiple pendant lighting with an industrial bent, and Sea Salt wall paint and Peppercorn island cabinets to ground the space. Note the practical electrical outlet on the island, which also sports a gas cook top and ample space for prep and visiting with guests or family kitchen-side. More storage is available under the island's overhang. Photo: Dan Bawden.

Generous aisles allow for entertaining of large groups of guests, while the chef is endeavoring to have everything hot at the same time! The warming drawer under the microwave aids in this, as well as double wall ovens and a commercial frig/freezer combo. Formerly a butler's pantry, the hallway down the middle sports wine storage and a chiller. Photo: Dan Bawden.

These once natural wood color cabinets sport a fresh new look with white paint in this expansive kitchen, which couples with laundry at the far end of the room. Large format geometric shapes of rubber make up the flooring. Additional recessed lighting was added, in addition to under cabinet lighting, creating a light-filled and functional kitchen.
