The homeowners desired an outdoor space that felt more rustic than their refined interior spaces, but still related architecturally to their house. Cement plaster support arbor columns provide enough of visual tie to the existing house exterior. Oversized wood beams and rafter members provide a unique outdoor atmosphere. After nearly 30 years residing in the same home they raised their children, this wonderful couple made the decision to tear down the walls and create one great open kitchen family room and dining space, partially expanding 10 feet out into their backyard. Unglazed porcelain – There is no glazing or any other coating applied to the tile. Their color is the same on the face of the tile as it is on the back resulting in very durable tiles that do not show the effects of heavy traffic. The most common unglazed tiles are the red quarry tiles or the granite looking porcelain ceramic tiles used in heavy commercial areas. Historic matches to the original tiles made from 1890 - 1930's. Subway Ceramic floor tiles are made of the highest quality unglazed porcelain and carefully arranged on a fiber mesh as one square foot sheets. A complimentary black hex is also in stock in both sizes and available by the sheet for creating borders and accent designs. Inspired by gorgeous girls' bedrooms done in hot pink and turquoise, one mom was frustrated that she was unable to find the sources for her favorite pin. She was determined to give her daughter's room in their new home a sophisticated "big girl" face lift. So, she took things into her own hands and went to work tracking down the items herself. With a little resourcefulness and DIY effort, she and her husband were able to create a girlie, Pinterest-worthy tween bedroom that their daughter absolutely loves!

Cabinetry design using Brookhaven inset cabinetry by Wood-Mode. The kitchen cabinetry is a white opaque finish. The kitchen perimeter countertop is Castro Bluestone. The hood is custom stainless steel. The wood flooring is a smoked French oak with a natural waxed satin finish.
