The builder we partnered with for this beauty original wanted to use his cabinet person (who builds and finishes on site) but the clients advocated for manufactured cabinets - and we agree with them! These homeowners were just wonderful to work with and wanted materials that were a little more "out of the box" than the standard "white kitchen" you see popping up everywhere today - and their dog, who came along to every meeting, agreed to something with longevity, and a good warranty!
The cabinets are from WW Woods, their Eclipse (Frameless, Full Access) line in the Aspen door style
- a shaker with a little detail. The perimeter kitchen and scullery cabinets are a Poplar wood with their Seagull stain finish, and the kitchen island is a Maple wood with their Soft White paint finish. The space itself was a little small, and they loved the cabinetry material, so we even paneled their built in refrigeration units to make the kitchen feel a little bigger. And the open shelving in the scullery acts as the perfect go-to pantry, without having to go through a ton of doors - it's just behind the hood wall!

This backyard space not only lets these Clarendon Hills homeowners enjoy season weather, but adds additional living space to the home. The pergola creates a cozy, welcoming feels and allows the homeowners to enjoy the sun, without too much exposure. the decorative brick columns also compliment the stone chimney and surrounding elements. The gold faucet dresses up the white apron front sink and compliments the gold hardware on the cabinets. A handy outlet on the end of the peninsula is helpful for plugging in kitchen gadgets and equipment.

This second story bedroom is part of a two story addition designed by Normandy Designer Stephanie Bryant CKD. This colorful girls bedroom is everything these homeowners had hoped for. The transom windows and double hung windows let the room fill with natural light as well.

The white painted perimeter cabinets with glass fronts are reminiscent of what one would find “back in the day”.
The large, dark stained island boasts a second sink and seating for casual dining and conversation. The island has a Caesarstone countertop, which gives the look of Carrera marble but is far more durable. The butcher block counter at the end of the island has an abundance of lighting for prep work and houses the prep sink. The contrast in heights, colors and textures of these two countertops provides a nice visual break for this long island while balancing the sleek look of the Caesarstone with the warmth and charm of natural wood.
