Located in a historic neighborhood, this property features an Italian Revival home on a compact lot. The owners have lovingly restored the exterior, and we created a garden that feels both fresh and timeless. The design maximizes the site with a sparkling pool and a series of spaces for entertaining, relaxing and play. Generous custom tile work, a new pergola and gates, and iron lights and railings all elevate the design and extend the graciousness of the home’s interior into the new outdoor spaces.

Classic Bluestone and Old-Chicago brick lends class to the new pool and clipped hedge knot garden. Plantings of lavender and lambs ear soften the edges of the paving. Seasonal color and movement are used throughout the garden with blooming flowers and trees. Let us help you put all the concepts that you gather together into a beautiful landscape. We have designers in the office and we are a fully licensed landscape contractor.

Raised beds hold organic garden soil mix that ranges from 8" - 2' deep. Here you see a late winter, very early spring view of this salad garden in metro Atlanta. Various types of lettuce, kale, parsley, and chives are accented by pansies which have edible flowers. After our frost date, most of this will be removed. Tomatoes will be planted in the center where the soil is deepest. Basil and mesclun will be planted around.

The owners of this luxurious property are hobby enthusiasts who wanted a space to entertain and play. The house is situated on acreage, which gave us 4,000 square feet of backyard space to design.
The owners wanted a slide for the pool. A boulder waterfall was incorporated in order to hide the steps up to the slide. The need for drainage was also solved with a design element; a dry creek bed allows water to drain away from the property after a heavy rain. A walkway with a gently arched bridge leads from the gate entrance, over the creek bed to the pool deck.
The pool house is well equipped with a stone fireplace, kitchen, TV and automatic screens to protect against wind. It also includes storage space for the pool equipment and toys. The mosquito control system ensures hours of pest-free outdoor enjoyment. The large pool deck and patio gives ample space for group entertaining.
This luxurious installation resulted in a tranquil and truly a wonderful family setting, an entertainer’s dream.

This play house includes a slide and ladder steps built into the existing tree.

Iris have been grown for many years in oriental garden situations. The varieties are endless , there are Japanese, German, and Siberian Iris. Most are moisture lovers, some need division, others like the intimacy of groups. Some are grown from bulbs, the majority from "Tubers" The downside is the blooming season, which in perennial world is short term. Bearded Iris may re-bloom after a tepee haircut.

This unique situation required a careful design response. The dilapidated wooden cabinetry was completely infested by roaches and rats. The elderly owner was unable to clean the surfaces nor locate goods in the rat-nest clutter. The budget was just above zero.
Thus, we fabricated the cabinets from five modified shopping carts.
Why? The open frames disable pest inhabitation by exposing every crevice. Simultaneously the frames put the food on display for ease of location. The *free* cart frames allowed the budget to be used elsewhere, mostly in the fine cork tile flooring. The entire project budget came in under $600, the owner cooked from then on, and the rats are gone!
The design utilized all parts of the cart. Cart-basket tops are sliced and used for upper cabinets. Cart seat was transformed into a shelf or folded and welded into a dish rack. Existing MDF counter pieces are wrapped in sheet metal and re-used.
The savings through these design decisions allowed the budget for a nice finished cork-flooring, which is made of natural tree bark - Nature's original insect-resistant material.
Although most materials were found or re-used, the kitchen maintains a clean aesthetic - though not for appearance, but for the elderly resident to maneuver and utilize his new kitchen. When the kitchen was finally finished, he actually cooked for the first time in 3 years!
