Reico Kitchen & Bath
Designed by Akram Aljahmi of Reico Kitchen & Bath in King of Prussia, this transitional style inspired kitchen design features Merillat Classic cabinets in the Glenrock door style in two grey finishes. The perimeter kitchen cabinets feature a Steel Grey finish and the kitchen island features a Graphite finish. Kitchen countertops are Cambria Bellingham. Kitchen appliances are Whirlpool. The tile backsplash features Elon Hampton 3x6 Glossy White tile with Raven grout.
Said the client, "I was dreading the remodeling of my kitchen. However, working with Reico was a great experience. Selecting cabinets was scary, but Akram gave us options based on what we were looking for. He asked us questions up front which narrowed things down and made it much more manageable. Picking out everything else was much easier thanks to Akram's direction and Reico having everything so we could see it all in one place. He was great through any cabinet issues (we had a few) and was always quick to get back to me."

The one-story contemporary overlooking a lake and bird sanctuary was a retirement dream - open spaces, expansive views and plenty of room to host grandchildren. While the location was ideal, the home needed help - especially the kitchen as it was dark and confining. Walls were removed and doorways expanded to ensure the kitchen would be the center of activity. The dining table was placed in front of the window and a skylight added bringing in sunlight. We offered our clients practical solutions for storage and space planning. Specific items needed to be accessible and handy to suit their lifestyle. Based on their valued input, we added tall pull-out pantry units and cabinets with “hidden” drawers. Storage was strategically positioned for easy drop off and pick up as our clients came and went. Dark-stained cherry cabinets and light quartz countertops provided the sharp contemporary contrast favored by our homeowners. After much collaboration, discussion, and careful planning, they are enjoying their remodeled home and kitchen where we know they will create lasting memories in their lakeside retirement retreat.

Le Gourmet Kitchen Ltd.
This kitchen located in Rossmoor, designed by Jonathan Salmon, is a complete transformation from what it was before. This transitional kitchen design in Rossmoor, CA incorporates the warmth of wood Shaker style cabinetry with stainless steel appliances and Zephyr tempered glass and stainless range hood. This is offset by glass elements throughout the space. At the center of this great room is a glass raised eating counter on the peninsula that separates the kitchen from the dining/entertaining space and includes wood and chrome barstools for casual dining. The use of glass is echoed in the glass dining table and complemented by a glass mosaic tile backsplash.
All of this is set against the backdrop of Wood-Mode Brookhaven cabinetry in a warm medium wood tone, topped by a Caesarstone Lagos blue countertop. The U-shaped kitchen includes base cabinets and upper cabinetry with glass front cabinets framing the range hood. Matching cabinetry extends to the dining/living area, including a beverage bar with a GE Monogram wine refrigerator. The beverage bar also incorporates a matching glass mosaic tile backsplash and glass front upper cabinets and is positioned just right to allow access to drinks away from the cooking area.
The space is well-illuminated throughout with lights hand-picked to make every aspect of the design pop. This includes pendant lights, recessed lighting, and under- and in-cabinet lights. A Franke stainless, double bowl undermount sink pairs perfectly with the sleek lines of a Grohe faucet. Stainless accents are also found in the appliances, including a Kitchenaid oven and warming oven, Kitchenaid refrigerator and dishwasher, and the Dacor cooktop. It’s easy to imagine sharing a meal and a glass of wine with close friends and family in this Rossmoor kitchen design!

The brief for this room was for a neutral palette that would retain a sense of warmth and luxury. This was achieved with the use of various shades of grey, accented with fuchsia. The walls are painted an ethereal shade of pale grey, which is contrasted beautifully by the dark grey Venetian polished plaster finish on the chimney breast, which itself is highlighted with a subtle scattering of mica flecks. The floor to ceiling mirrored walls enhance the light from the full height wall of bifolding doors.
The large L shaped sofa is upholstered in dark grey wool, which is balanced by bespoke cushions and throw in fuchsia pink wool and lush grey velvet. The armchairs are upholstered in a dark grey velvet which has metallic detailing, echoing the effect of the mica against the dark grey chimney breast finish.
The bespoke lampshades pick up the pink accents which are a stunning foil to the distressed silver finish of the lamp bases.
The metallic ceramic floor tiles also lend a light reflective quality, enhancing the feeling of light and space.
The large abstract painting was commissioned with a brief to continue the grey and fuchsia scheme, and is flanked by a pair of heavily distressed steel wall lights.
The dramatic full length curtains are of luscious black velvet.
The various accessories and finishes create a wonderful balance of femininity and masculinity.
Finglas Painting
Jody Finglas
A little about Finglas Painting, Inc.
Luckily, I also had the ability to convey my enthusiasm to customers, to help them understand the difference between a “paint” job and a “refine your home” job. As president of Finglas Painting, I run the day-to-day operations of the company. Yet I also feel an obligation to train and mentor the next generation of painting professionals. I believe the art of fine details in painting must be preserved, as it makes a difference that goes beyond work for individual clients. Even so, my clients inevitably become my friends, and they remain so long after we are through with their projects. I am so proud to be able to say that. Thank you to my friends for helping me add quality, preserve craftsmanship, and make a difference.
Finglas Painting, Inc. brings European elegance and craftsmanship to every home. Jody Finglas, owner of Finglas Painting, is the mentor to a team of highly skilled painters that continue a tradition of artisanship. Jody honed his skills under just such an artisan and then took over the business to carry on the tradition. European painters are known for this philosophy: A “good job” isn’t enough. An “excellent job” is what we strive for in a project.
We do Interior and exterior painting for the fine homes of Westchester, Fairfield & Rockland Counties. Standard paints in great trending colors to contrast walls excellently taped for perfection, along with oil based gloss crown moulding and trims really add luster to any room. We also do wall paper removal & installation with some of the finest designer’s picks.
Did you know that the color of your house can raise the value when you are selling it? We know this and also do ‘selling your house’ light carpentry and painting.

Corylus Architects Ltd.
This design evolved from our clients seemingly contradictory tastes. He liked cosy traditional houses. She liked after living in America for many years, light open plan designs. Both agreed that the views from their home were and are spectacular.
We struck upon the large chimney and heavy base early on in the design because it provided a traditional element that a lighter structure could be built around. From this we played around with different window configurations until in the end we settled on fairly traditional window proportions and created a sense of airiness by vaulting the ceiling and introducing south facing roof lights. We made sure that the windows were placed so that the views could be appreciated from inside to the max.
It was fortunate that this client had the budget to pick out new furniture. It meant that the colour pallet could start from a blank canvas. In the end the walls were painted with Delux Indian Cotton which we feel makes the oak of the fireplace and the oatmeal of the furniture more zingy.
For the outside we matched the granite as best we could as the original house is built from field stones. The cladding was originally going to be pinker. We got a call from site once the first coat went on and it was decided that it was too funky for our tasteful clients. However we have recently purchased virtual reality software which hopefully will make surprises like this a thing of the past.
Though this extension is just one room our clients have said that it has had a big impact on them. They told us that they like it so much that they virtually live in it.
Vision Interiors
The Holloway blends the recent revival of mid-century aesthetics with the timelessness of a country farmhouse. Each façade features playfully arranged windows tucked under steeply pitched gables. Natural wood lapped siding emphasizes this homes more modern elements, while classic white board & batten covers the core of this house. A rustic stone water table wraps around the base and contours down into the rear view-out terrace.
Inside, a wide hallway connects the foyer to the den and living spaces through smooth case-less openings. Featuring a grey stone fireplace, tall windows, and vaulted wood ceiling, the living room bridges between the kitchen and den. The kitchen picks up some mid-century through the use of flat-faced upper and lower cabinets with chrome pulls. Richly toned wood chairs and table cap off the dining room, which is surrounded by windows on three sides. The grand staircase, to the left, is viewable from the outside through a set of giant casement windows on the upper landing. A spacious master suite is situated off of this upper landing. Featuring separate closets, a tiled bath with tub and shower, this suite has a perfect view out to the rear yard through the bedroom's rear windows. All the way upstairs, and to the right of the staircase, is four separate bedrooms. Downstairs, under the master suite, is a gymnasium. This gymnasium is connected to the outdoors through an overhead door and is perfect for athletic activities or storing a boat during cold months. The lower level also features a living room with a view out windows and a private guest suite.

London Garden Designer
The use of false perspective was often employed in Renaissance gardens to trick the eye into believing the garden was even bigger. Statuary, gazebos, terracing, areas of shade, hidden seating and especially water and fountains were all part of this movement. We have tried to incorporate all these elements into the garden using false perspective for the central avenue of trees, leading to the focal urn in the centre.
We created different Plateaus to accommodate the topography of the site, making the design practical as well as dramatic taking into consideration views from the house and access points. We felt that it was very important to have a dramatic transition from the house and patio to the garden, so we widened and opened the steps up, embracing the upper levels.
The Pagoda stands at the highest point on the garden, emphasized by the sculpted landforms that wrap around its base. It is surrounded by a water moat, which has jets of water providing a dramatic vertical impact. This water is then linked via a cascading rill in between the steps down to the lower terrace. At this point on the lower terrace, is a small formal garden, with circular sawn York stone setts around the small water feature with 2 benches and wide stone steps that lead down to the main garden terrace.
The water feature is then picked up on the opposite side of the garden, in the centre of an ornamental par-terre, with a long wide rill that pours via 3 spouts down to the lower terrace, thereby linking all 3 water features together and unifying the whole garden. The water of course is also there to detract from the noise of the A30.

Our homeowners were looking for a very contemporary look for this remodel to match the appliances they had picked out and the features they were planning to include. We worked directly with the clients to design and remodel their entire kitchen to meet their visual appeal and even suggested some unique and functional features they could use.
To create the illusion of space within the 8 foot ceiling space, we ran the grain of the light, rift-cut, oak veneer vertically to draw attention to the height of the cabinets. We included an appliance lift for their juicer to maintain surface space, and added a special drawer for their dog's food, a pullout pantry for easy reach and depth, and extra storage space on the back of their island for functionality.
Additionally, we added a custom table to coincide with their theme and aesthetic details, even helping them find a unique metal base to match perfectly.
