Challenge: utilize a spare bedroom to create a home gym while assuring it could be converted back to a guest bedroom upon the sale of the home to new buyers. Managed outside sub-contractors and project managed lighting schedule, mirror install, floor install. Hand selected all finishes.

With our design expertise and experienced project management, Lorain Design remodeled all 3 Bathrooms and the Laundry Room for these clients with large format patterned wood grain tile and light textured laminate cabinets that we fell in love with. The warm look of wood-tone tile is one of our current favorites for creating an inviting spa-like ambiance for bathrooms. The Primary Bath was made with an eye for aging in place and it's gorgeous! One sink is lower with knee space for a wheelchair if needed and the shower access has no curb or shower door to get in the way.

The homeowners desired an outdoor space that felt more rustic than their refined interior spaces, but still related architecturally to their house. Cement plaster support arbor columns provide enough of visual tie to the existing house exterior. Oversized wood beams and rafter members provide a unique outdoor atmosphere. This matte black standing seam roof is the crown on this newly built traditional farm house style home. The double pipe snow retention system is a must to prevent damage or injury due to snow sliding off the roof.

The bathtub was completely removed due to its high risk of falling and possible injury. Grab bars and a seat were installed for safer use and better experience. We added a handheld shower system for better motion and comfort.

Designed by Lynn Casanova of Closet Works The center of the closet includes a three sided island perfect for packing a suitcase. Corners on the laminate countertop were rounded to prevent injury in case the owners accidentally bump into it. A custom mirror framed by the same door panel style used elsewhere in the closet was hung above the suitcase staging area.

Unlike a conventional baseball field made with natural grass, this custom designed disability field is made from No Fault Safety Surface, poured-in-place rubberized surface, providing a seamless, porous surface to support wheelchairs and other mobility assistive devices. This application will help to prevent injuries while providing a fun and accessible environment for everyone.
