We were hired to turn a 1950s split-level into a forever home for our clients, a growing family who fell in love with their home for the location. Over the course of two years, we transformed the space, adding an extensive amount of square footage to the home’s footprint, raising ceilings, and adding a third floor. We prioritized stylish and enduring materials like handmade tiles and natural stone to create a warm and livable aesthetic for family living.

Industrial transitional English style kitchen. The addition and remodeling were designed to keep the outdoors inside. Replaced the uppers and prioritized windows connected to key parts of the backyard and having open shelvings with walnut and brass details.
Custom dark cabinets made locally. Designed to maximize the storage and performance of a growing family and host big gatherings. The large island was a key goal of the homeowners with the abundant seating and the custom booth opposite to the range area. The booth was custom built to match the client's favorite dinner spot. In addition, we created a more New England style mudroom in connection with the patio. And also a full pantry with a coffee station and pocket doors.

This small addition and kitchen remodel reimagines a classic St. Paul home for a growing family—prioritizing natural light, smart function, and modern warmth.
A modest side-yard addition creates space for a mudroom and ¾ bath, carefully positioned to preserve the dining room’s original piano windows. New windows throughout balance light, privacy, and flow.
Inside, custom bleached butternut cabinets and a curved enameled tambour island bring warmth and sculptural contrast. Heated porcelain tile floors extend to a new deck, blending indoors and out. The exterior pairs vertical cedar with dark cement board for a subtle, modern update.
Small in size, big in intention—this project honors the past while supporting the way this family lives now

This luxurious primary bedroom, nestled within a modern Hollywood Hills home, is a masterclass in understated elegance by renowned design firm Cutlerschulze. The space seamlessly blends contemporary design with soothing natural elements, creating a sanctuary for rest and rejuvenation. A custom-designed, woven headboard anchors the room, adding depth and visual interest to the otherwise minimalist space. Its neutral tones and tactile nature invite relaxation and create a sense of warmth. Clean lines, a muted color palette, and uncluttered surfaces define the aesthetic, allowing the focus to remain on the quality of the materials and the tranquility of the space. Delicate pendant lights with elongated, frosted glass shades dangle above the nightstands, casting a soft, diffused glow that enhances the room's peaceful ambiance. A plush, tufted bench at the foot of the bed invites moments of quiet reflection or reading, while its metallic legs echo the modern accents throughout the room. Thoughtful touches, such as a statement artwork and carefully selected bedside books, add personality and sophistication without overwhelming the space. This primary bedroom is perfect for design enthusiasts seeking a serene and sophisticated retreat, modern homeowners who appreciate natural materials and minimalist aesthetics, and those who prioritize rest and relaxation within their bustling urban lifestyle.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! We love designing warm and cozy spaces that are perfect for hosting friends and family! How do you keep your home feeling merry and bright during the busy Christmas season?
